  1. Yes I was having the same problem. What I realized was that I was not eating enough. Make sure you balance your day with protein, Vegetable and fruit. I am eating Tuna Fish, Chicken Breast the kind that comes in a can, I love fish so I have making fresh fish and mashing it with a fork, make sure you chew, chew, chew your food. I also made mashed acorn squash, I cooked fresh spinach then pureed it. Experiment with foods. Make sure you get all your water in also. Good Luck

  4. Melvan, Thank you I feel better knowing I'm not alone. I know this will work for all of us.
  5. I was banded on 3/20 and I have only lost about 5 lbs since the surgery, everyone else here seems to be losing much more. I am still on pureed/mushie foods, I tend to eat soups alot could it be the sodium. I'm not eating all that much. So I don't understand why I'm not losing more weight. Anyone else having this issue. Any suggestions??
  6. Yes, definitely, burping and farting (sorry I couldn't think of another word to use for this) it seems to be getting less frequent but still more then I would like
  7. Although there is always a risk when having surgery, there is a very low mortality rate with the Lap Band. Maybe your family is thinking about Gastric Bypass which the mortality rate is much, much higher. You may have issues eating certain foods but I think if I have to give up certain foods to be thinner and healthier then so be it. Go over all your concerns with your doctor and make the decision that is right for you. I actually choose not to talk to people before my surgery because I didn't want to hear their negative comments or opinions. Once I made my decision I didn't look back and I am so happy I did it. Good Luck to you
  8. Yes I had a bruising at the port site also, it is normal
  9. Niki, yes that is helpful thank you
  10. Day 5 for me on the other side and doing great, I feel a little better everyday. I have been trying to get out a little every day. I still can't eat all I am supposed to eat but doing my best to get in as much as possible. My new issue is a pain in my lift rib as anyone experianced this.
  11. I couldn't find the liquid either, my doctor told me as long as the pill is smaller then an M&M you can take it. I found CVS brand acetaminophen they are small tabs and work very well
  12. 4 days post op and I still have no appetite at all and finding it hard to get in all my Water. With that said I am feeling very tired probably because I am not getting enough Vitamins as I need. Is anyone taking Vitamin supplements and suggestions, I am assuming I will need some sort of chewable. I am going to head to CVS in a little to see what I can get. How is everyone getting there water in???? My day so far consists of 2 Protein shakes, 2 tablespoons applesauce, 1 tbs Peanut Butter and maybe 20 ounces water if even. I also try to get in a small cup of chicken broth. I can tolerate it all but I really do not feel like eating and the smells of some of the foods really turn me off. Other then to food issue I have been feeling pretty good, only one sore spot in one of the incisions, I was going a bit stir crazy so I even went to my book club last night, it felt great to get out. Although I did get a bit tired and left early but that was at about 10PM so it really wasn't that early, lol. Today I am going to attempt to go to a baseball game my friends son is playing in my neighborhood so it might be good to get out again just for a little while. I think getting out and feeling normal is what I need to help some of the tiredness to go away. Thanks for listening and any vitamin suggestions would be much appreciated.

  15. I am on day two of recovery, not feeling hungry at all, forcing myself to take in liquids. I have to say the shoulder pain is the most annoying of all. Although my incision areas are still a little tender. I try and go for 1 walk a day around the corner. How long did this shoulder pain last for some of you. I didn't take any pain med today, just trying to bare it

  20. I have been looking for this blog, sharing my experience with others having lap band surgery at the same time. I am scheduled for 3/20. I started my boost yesterday And my belly rumbles all day long. I even dreamed about food last night. But I am so looking forward to this and nervous at the same time. I try to avoid blogs about people having problems. How is everyone else doing
