  1. I was on the 1000 calorie diet before surgery. I had a shake for breakfast and lunch and a protein dinner (chicken or turkey). I lost 19 lbs Pre op. I was banded on Wednesday and would I do it again? Yes yes yes. Right now I am on only 1 oz of water every 20 mins and I'm not hungry. Right now pain is manageable. I feel like I did 1000 sit ups and some gas pain in my shoulder/neck area. Good luck to everyone having surgery soon. I know it's the best decision I ever made.
  2. I feel the same way. Call your doc. I was told mine is due to trapped gas. But definately call them.
  3. It all depends in your doctor. I was banded yesterday and I have to be in a clear liquid diet for 1 week. Water, sf ice pops, ice chips, crystal light. After my follow up I can add broth and Protein drinks for 2 weeks. After that it's mushy foods for 4 weeks and then solids.
  4. So glad your doing well. I'm still having gas pains and a sore throat. I know we will all do well.
  5. Got my band yesterday. I felt pretty good yesterday but today is a different story. I have a lot of gas pain in my shoulder, neck and back. Pain meds don't relieve that pain. Did you get a fill yesterday? I have 7 cc in a 10 cc band. Good luck today.
  6. Hi everyone. I am banded. I have 7 ccs on a 10 cc band. It wasn't as bad as I thought. Some soreness in the port area. When they ask you about your pain and nausea be truthful. They will make you comfortable and you definitely don't want to be in pain. It will speed your recovery. I will post more later.
  7. It's our day today. Good luck. I will post when I'm finished. I have to be there at 6:45.
  8. Hi everyone. Surgery is tomorrow. Yikes! I am excited to add years to my life for my family. My husband is proud of me so we are planning to get our diving certs. Next year I will be on a beach somewhere enjoying the sun (without a drink). As far as bc it is because bc can cause clots. With surgery there is an added risk of clots without bc. I had to stop my daily aspirin (and I clot too much). They want you somewhere in the middle.
  9. Thank you for putting the group together. This has been a blessing and has made my surgery less fearful. My surgery is for Wednesday. I am excited but yet scared of failing. For those of you have surgery this week, does anyone else have the feeling that you have to clean and organizer their home before surgery? Where did everyone find their Unjury powder? I have to be on clear liquids for one week, full liquids for another two weeks and then mussy foods for four weeks.
  10. In 3 days I get banded. I am excited but nervipus as well. Last night I had my "last" steak meal with my husband. Oh how I will miss steak. That is one of my favorite foods. I am in the Catskills NY if anyone is looking for a local partner.
  11. Hi Cbarreto. I am using Tri-State Bariatrics. I will be banded this Wednesday May 2nd with Dr Kwon. I think he's great. If you would like a local support friend you can message me anytime.
  12. Hi everyone. Has anyone tried the injury drinks yet? I am curious to see what everyone thinks of them. I am going to use the Isopure Rtd protein drinks. I find the other drinks to be chalky. I also have pcos. Weight loss before now had been hard. In 3 months I lost 17 lbs preop. I am confident that the new tool will work perfectly. Thanks
  13. Hi May Banders. I am also scheduled for May 2nd in NY. It is coming fast. This time next week I will be in my car on the way to the hospital. I have the same fear of failing. My Doctor's office told me to make a list of the 25 reasons why I'm doing the surgery. You have to look at every day and renew why you are doing it. Good luck. I'll see you on the banded side. Please post how your surgery went and I will do the same.
  14. Hi everyone. It is great to hear everyone's comments and what they are going through. I have my surgery date and it is May 2nd. It's coming up fast.
