Good afternoon, Violets.. Back from my shift and got home just before the storm hit here. Lots of wind, rain and some hail. Lots of power lines down. The sun is out now so maybe, just maybe I can get some pictures of the gardens. Janie.. yup.. all the horror stories people feel the need to tell. I am not afraid of the pain... I can handle that. My fear is being sick from the anesthetic. I have a horrible time with that. They need to drug me up good with anti-nausea meds. AND I don't drink water.. it makes me gag. It has to be Crystal Light or Welch's or some kind of juice. I hope the nurses are sympathtic to my needs!! That's Bob's job when I'm in the hospital. No pills with water... he will be there with my jug of juice to get me through. Just finished my tuna salad and light chips for lunch. Time to get some "water" in. I'll go out as soon as things dry out a bit and get the pictures taken.

Good morning, Violets.. The sun is trying to peek through. Temperature is only supposed to get to 70 today. I need some pool time!! I have my hospital shift this morning and then off to the backyard to trim and then take pictures. We are done planting... just a little cleaning up to do and we are ready for the garden walk! I can't believe how much we've done to the garden just this year. I have a couple of daisies that look iffy and we'll replace them before the walk if they don't perk up, but other than that everything looks great. I'm going to get a wisteria vine today.. so excited I found one in town that is reasonably priced and healthy looking. Two weeks from Wednesday is the big surgery. I'm looking forward to it being over and done. Everyone keeps telling me about the pain and I'm trying to block that part out. Don't know why they feel compelled to remind me of that part! At least with the band unfilled, I'll be able to swallow pain pills easier. Going to go book a hotel for our overnight to the lap band doc. for an unfill. It's a 4 hour drive and our appt. is at 10:45 a.m. so we'll go the night before and have the next day for shopping after the unfill. Off to find breakfast.. everyone have a good day!

Good afternoon, Violets.. Still a dreary day, so I'm headed for a nap. Yes, Janie.. Bob is that dedicated that he would go to an AC/DC concert, fly back and give a sermon the next day. He's the Bobster!! PamELa... why a UU church?? Have you looked for a UCC church? I heard this morning that St. Francis Catholic church in New York was told not to put their church name on a banner supporting gay pride. Guess the Bishop thought that would be an indication that the church supports a "deviant" life style... Ahhhhhhhh when will they ever "get it"? I've been working on my tan, but the last few days have not been conducive to tanning with no sun shining.. Maybe next week! I finished reading Violet Dawn. For a freebie on Kindle, it was a really good murder mystery. It was published by Zondervan which usually indicates a book with a Christian message, but that wasn't the case. There was mention of God and second chances in the end, but nothing overt through the whole book. I was pleasantly surprised.

Good morning, Violets.. Good job, Janie! I see that the seat next to me is now taken. I changed mine online and never had any problems. Changing you to change a seat?? Not happening!! I had a great day yesterday. Ethan and I swam in the pool for an hour, Bob got me three new plants, one hanging and two to be planted today and I had a great dinner with Bob, Nathan, Kris and Grady. Ethan is here now and will be here until 2. We're going swimming at 11 so we can get another hour in before I have to leave for a hair appointment at 1:15. Grady is coming over at 4 so Kris can go to Zumba and then again at 7 so she can go to a drug rep dinner with Nathan. Guess it's a Gramma kinda day. Off to find some breakfast for Ethan and me. Everyone have a great day!

Trust us, if you can get through the first 40 years.. yep... it's all cake!! So sorry it turned out like this Suzi. At least she had a little normalcy with you for awhile. Sometimes love just isn't enough. No Finley's here in this area. We got to CW's, a bbq place connected to the Holiday Inn here in town. We had an earthquake here yesterday!!! Well, not right here, it was centered in Canada, but it was felt in the area. I didn't notice anything, but others on Facebook have mentioned it.

Good morning, Violets.. Thanks for the birthday wishes. And Happy Anniversary, Dolores!! Ethan is here and I am hoping we can get in the pool today and so some swimming. Nothing else on my agenda except dinner out with the family. I get a free steak dinner at our local restaurant and the kids got us an anniversary gift certificate to the same restaurant so the Bobster and I will both have free meals tonight. Can't beat it! Bob got me a beautiful Lobelia hanging plant. It was my mom's favorite flower so I try to get some each year. I loved the Julia's Chocolates book! I just finished Hannah's List. It was pretty predictable, so only one thumb up on that one. I really liked House Rules, though. On to one of the two I just downloaded, Violet Dawn and the Double Comfort Safari Club: The new No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency novel. Will let you know what I think when I get into them. Off to find some breakfast and then start my day. Everyone make it a good one!!
