I don't have a surgery date yet, but I was wondering about when you can go back to work. I am a secretary, so basically I sit all day. I was wondering if being off work a week and then going back was unrealistic.

Hi, I am Joan, I have posted in a couple places on this board, but I'm not sure I was doing it right, because I never got a reply. But, I'm new, have just been approved this past week, and will have my first visit with the doctor this coming thursday. I have been this board for a couple of months now and hope to have someone to encourage me as I go through this. I am from Indiana, 50 years old and kind of nervous.

Hi Traci I just got approved by BCBS last week. I go for my first appointment this weekk. I am hoping for around the 1st week of April.

Hi, I'm Joan from Fort Wayne, IN. I just received notification that I have been approved for the lapband :clap2: and my first appointment is this coming thursday. I have been viewing this board for a couple of weeks now, and I have been really encouraged by listening to everyone (those who have been banded and those like me that are waiting). I kind of go from being excited to being a little fearful. Fearful I guess of what to expect. :nervous

Hi, I am new to this board although I have been reading it for awhile. I am waiting for approval for my surgery. I had approval, but when the insurance company sent me the letter it had been approved for the wrong surgery (they approved the gastric by-pass), I want the lapband. Initially, myself and another friend were going to do this together. But she decided on the bypass (had her surgery yesterday and doing great) (I'm jealous). While I am still waiting. So far I have just had the psych eval. Waiting has a way of making you second guess yourself; like there are times when I think to myself that maybe this delay is a sign not to do this. But, I know how I want to feel and look. I have read some discussion boards where they talk with each other from the beginning of deciding to get the surgery and even pass the surgery day. I hope I have found a support board like that.
