  8. Thanks to all for your kind words of support! Secret? No secret but some lifestyle changes... Move alot, really really pay attention to what kind of hunger I feel and eat when physically hungry, don't allow myself to get to the point of desperate- hungry ( frequent small meals), appreciate the kind support of friends and family, and always remember how greatful I am to have the means/ good insurance to have this band which allows me for the first time in my entire life to not be hungry all the time.

  12. I just had an appointment with my surgeon. He called me a Superstar and told me I am one of his top losers, if not THE biggest loser. I am so excited! 52 pounds GONE in 16 weeks with a 2.2 cc fill in a 10 cc band. Not bad for a 51 year old lady. I feel great and I LOVE MY BAND!
  13. Hi hun- Congratulations on turning your life around and your decision to become a healthier person. While weight loss will help you become healthier it is definately not easy, lap band or not. It will help you feel better and MAY improve your self esteem, blood pressure, etc. This is a wonderful forum to make friends and gain support from people just like you . I was banded in Fort Atkinson, just down the road from you on March 20 this year and have lost 52 pounds so far. I LOVE MY BAND! Good luck!

  20. So.... I woke up this morning..... got a good night's sleep, packed a protein-laden breakfast of cottage cheese with peaches, recommitted myself to water and exercise today, congratulated myself on my 49# weight loss, went to work, said a few mantras in my head about being the best employee ever...and then.... DONUTS. My cheerful beautiful, sweet, sabotaging co-worker comes in singing " good morning, I brought in donuts". Arggh! My absolute favorite sweet indulgence! Lord, help me be strong because I don't want donuts, but I want donuts! LOL!!

  22. Congrats! All your HARD work is paying off!
  23. 3 months post op here. Had 2 ccs at 6 weeks which worked beautifully, have lost 48#, but now i am also eating more and am hungrier. Will ask for another fill soon
  24. I have not heard of the Dukan diet. Thought I had tried them all. LOL
  25. Ya, that's the wierd thing... the spasms were in different areas on my left stomach/ side but eventually localized to the port area. I agree, if you feel something is wrong call your surgeon or seek emergency treatment. Get well soon
  26. According to my surgeon, occasionally a patient will develope cramping and spasming at the port placement site. It is the body adjusting to the new implant and can last up to 2 months. I was banded March 20. It was frequent and absolutely random initially. It was so painful it actaully doubled me over in pain. I rested, used muscle relaxants and a heating pad when I had these "attacks". I seldom have them any more, thank goodness.

  28. Hello to all..... My surgery scheduled for TODAY has been rescheduled to March 20 due to this not so lovely upper respiratory tract infection. So... this is my official application to become a March bandster instead of a February bandster. I am actually quite relieved to not be having surgery when I am so sick but am sure not looking forward to restarting another 10 days of full liquids!
  29. I feel crummy as I sit here eating a peanut butter raisin bread sandwich.... I began my 10 day liquid preop diet on Feb 19 with surgery scheduled tomorrow Feb 28. The good patient I am, I precooked and stocked up for the family, shopped for all the pre/post surgical things I need, strictly followed the diet instructions and then..... on Saturday.... got a teeny little sore throat. I tried to will it away, drinking extra fluids and summonsing the angels for health protection to no avail. I AM SICK. I have a sore throat and an upper respiratory infection of some sort (cough, sniff, sneeze). I called the surgery center today and my surgery has been rescheduled to March 20. Bummer Bummer Bummer! I had soooo mentally prepared for surgery tomorrow.
