  1. Hi. I live in Lawrence. Not too far from KC. Wouldn't mind hearing from some locals.
  2. Hi Steve, my name is Dori. I am very interested in any information you are willing to share. I am 1 week post op!! So far everything has been great!! Surgery went well, not a lot of pain, none of the dreaded gas pain I heard so much about. I've been following my doctors orders to the letter. I'm currently on puréed foods. Which is so much better than all liquid. So, I guess what I would like to know is: is it silly that I'm kinda scared to go to regular food? I've seen sooo much talk about getting stuck and vomiting. I don't like to vomit!! Lol.
  3. I too had my surgery on the 19th and heading back to work tomorrow. I'm not in any pain and feeling pretty good.
  4. Has anyone tried the unflavored Nectar protein powder?
  5. I haven't really felt hungry until today. So I added another protein drink in. I'm really wanting some saltiness. Everything in the liquids has been sweet. Well except for the broth but it's low sodium.
  6. I was also banded on July 19. I feel the same. Sore but that's about all. I keep drinking my protein drinks and having broth. Can't wait to move to the next stage!!
  7. Thanks Steve for always making me laugh!! Your posts are great. I'm newly banded on July 19. I hope I can be a success at this. I'm definitely tired of broth.
  8. Hi. I was banded in July 19. I am also sipping my liquids but I'm wondering if I'm getting enough. I don't feel hungry. I sip my protein shake over a 30 minute period then wait 30 min before I start sipping on water. I know I'm not getting very many calories either. I'm hoping everything is going ok.
  9. I was thinking the same thing about using PB2!!
  10. I was banded this morning too!! I feel great! No pain, no gas, not even hungry!! The nurses were very impressed on my recovery. Good luck to everyone.
  11. Banded to day also!! Everything went good.
  12. My surgery is tomorrow also!! I am scheduled for noon. I'm very excited. The nervous part hasn't really kicked in yet. I'm sure it will though!!
  13. Yes, a wide variety of emotions. Most of which are positive!! I'm not going to let the negative thought and feelings in. I want this!! I can do this!! Good luck to you also!!
  14. OMG!!! I just got the call from my surgeon's office telling me I was approved!!!! Then she asked when I wanted my surgery date and I was like well when is the first available? To my total surprise she said she had an opening next Thursday July 19!!!! So I took that day and start my pre-op diet tonight!!! I can't believe it's here. It's been a long journey.
  15. So how long after all your information was submitted to insurance did you hear anything? How long should I wait before I call and bug them? My paperwork was submitted yesterday so I thought I'd call them on Tuesday.
  16. Just talked to the surgeons office and found out all of my paperwork was sent in to Cigna today!! Now it's a waiting game. I'm very excited and hope all goes smooth. Wish me luck!!
  17. Sorry about the double post. It said it didn't go the first time.
  18. PB2 is the best!!! 2Tbsp is only 45 calories, 1.5g fat, and 5 protein. I get it from my local nutrition store. I was told that Hyvee had it at one time.
  19. PB2 is the best!! I found it at local nutrition store. I think you might be able to get it at Hyvee. They also make a chocolate version. For 2 Tbsp it's 45 calories, 1.5g fat, 5g protein. I discovered this while doing a local weightloss challenge.
  20. I had my psych eval tonight!! It was the last thing I had to do before submitting to insurance. I can't believe I am finished with all the insurance requirements and now it's just waiting.
  21. Hi. I am just starting my journey. I have had my first consultation with the surgeon and he was so nice!! I met with the insurance person for the office and we went over what my insurance covers. This is where I was informed of the 6 month supervised diet. I sort of was expecting that after reading so many posts about it being a requirement. However, I was told it had to be six consecutive months. I have read and re-read my policy and it doesn't specify consecutive months. It just says six months of supervised diet. In the past year I have been to see my doctor at least once a month for 8 months for my weight. The only thing is there were not six in a row. Is there anything else I can do?
