  1. Ok, so maybe I am the exception but I am craving everything!!! I am almost 2 weeks out from surgery, and I want to eat everything around me (as we speak my fiance is eating sushi right next to me and I almost want to tackle him and take a piece lol ) I have seriously been craving carbs though.... all carbs; waffles, crackers, toast, french fries (the reasons I had to have surgery in the 1st place) Please tell me it goes away...
  2. Hello there! I was also sleeved on the 24th. I have found that discomfort as well and gas x strips help me and walking. I am only getting small amounts of protein in and water but I'm trying to remember to sip constantly. Congrats on your surgery, good luck on your journey, and please feel free to contact me if you want to chat, rant, and\or rave! Lol
  3. i know! Im on day 4 and I want to eat everything!!! Congrats and good luck!
  4. exactly! At least after surgery i won't still be hungry after so little!
  5. There should be an option when you're editing your profile to add the pic
  6. I'm so glad I'm not the only one!! lol my stomach is growling like i've haven't eaten in a week instead of two days lol. I do feel pretty full after my protein shakes but the mid afternoon is the worse...However I can have SF Jello so I have to stock up! Where are you getting sleeved? I'm in Maryland at Holy Cross with Dr. McArthur
  7. Did anyone else feel like your head was going to blow up when you started your pre-op liquid diet? I'm having a hard time making it through my workday without laying my head down and crying...only 13 1/2 more days...yay...
  8. I saw the show, and Rachael looks sick. She looked so bad, I called my mother to make her turn her TV so she could see how bad she looked. I hope that she rewatches the Finale episode and sees what the rest of the world saw, and gets back on track to being healthy. She lost the weight which is wonderful, but that is not a healthy or sexy image that I would want my daughter to see. Good luck to her though.
  9. I am so glad I'm not the only one...I stopped eating McDonald's about 9 months ago but I had a large value meal yesterday and ate every bite! lol Good Luck to you on your surgery!!
  10. Did anyone else decide to PIG OUT before they had to start their pre-op liquid diet? I got my date the other day and start my liquid diet on 02/10...and I have been eating ridiculously...anyone else? This is kind of my goodbye to foods I won't be able to eat for a long time but I feel like I really shouldn'e be... food for thought I guess.
  11. Thanks guys and congrats to all as well and good luck!!!
  12. I am so stoked! Surgery date is 2/24 and I couldn't be more excited if you paid me to be! sexy-healthy here I come!! #tooflyyformyowngood #watchoutnow #moreconceitedthanIshouldbe
  13. SUPER SAD FACE!!!! I do not have a date yet!! There was some sort of mix-up and I have two more meetings with mu nutritionist...but silver lining this this ugly dark and dreary cloud is I dont have to go to the bottom of the list ands wait. She said as soon as I get my approval (which I will!) She will schedule me right away! Woo Hoo!
  14. I'm scheduled for November 25th too!!! yay and good luck!!
  15. Sleeved November 25th!!! Woo hoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. I have been using a vanilla whey Protein with all sorts of different fruit and veggie combinations. I was wondering if I would still be able to drink that during the liquid stage post-op...
  17. Ok, so I have a question... I am trying to get myself geared up for surgery by starting on my protein shakes and smoothies early. When I am on the liquid diet after surgery, can I still have the fruit and veggie protein smoothies or do I have to stick to something basic like unjury in milk? Thanks in advance!
  18. WOW!! You look fantastic! Congrats on the weight loss!
  19. Any one here from MD? I am going through the process for the second time ( got pregnant first time around, and have to start over from the beginning) and I'm looking for a support chain and possible workout buddy! BTW...I'm 25 and live in the Laurel area. Look forward to hearing from any MD sleevers! Thanks
  20. Good Luck and keep us posted!
  21. I understand you all perfectly! I am re-starting my WLS process (had to stop cause I was preggers) and the only people suportive of this is my Fiance, my best friend, and a co-worker. My mother, sister, brothers, extended family, and friends all balked when I told them I was getting the surgery before. I haven't even told this go-round, so I don't have to hear anyones mouth! All of my friends and family are healthy and skinny or their unhealthy and overweight and don't care so they really don't get it. I have been overweight since I was about 11 years old, and I was ready to lose the weight before, but with the birth of my son, I have to get healthy to be around for him! I hate hearing "Don't take the easy way; that's cheating; or just work out more..." What part of surgery, liquid diets, and removing 60% of my stomach is easy? I hope you have some one close to you that has your back and supports your decision and we are also here if you need to vent of rant, or just need some virtual hugs. Good luck on your journey!
  22. Deep down, I know its worth it. Especially for my little guy but its so discouraging and frustrating to start back from the beginning... I guess was just hoping for surgery soon. I'm not the most patient person, and now I have to wait even longer...boo...
  23. Ok, so I have Kaiser Permanente and their program is 6 months nutritionist visits and weight loss surgery classes. I started this in late 2010 and then changed my mind after the first weight loss surgery class. About 6 months later I changed my mind back and had to start over but only had to redo one class...went through the entire process and was approved for surgery. Fast forward to early 2012, and I met with the surgeon, and was just awaiting my surgery date . A week after meeting with him I found out I was pregnant. Fast forward to 2013 and my son is 4 months old. I called the woman who schedules the surgeries and asked what I needed to so to be scheduled for surgery now that I wasn't pregnant anymore. She said I had to contact my PCP to get a referral back to the surgeon. Well he tells me he has to check with the review board to see if I can get a referral...3 weeks pass and I was called this afternoon and told that since it has been over a year, I have to start over from the beginning!!!! Can you believe this crap?! The entire time I was pregnant, the woman called to schedule my surgery three times. THREE TIMES!!! I kept having to remind her I was pregnant and I would contact them after I had my son. Now I have to start over and do the same visits and classes for 6 months and then wait for approval AGAIN!!!! This is so discouraging...someone please tell me this is worth it. I really need some support to do this all over again...
  24. Hey there ladies, Is there any one that had their procedure soon after giving birth? I was on the way to getting my surgery (already met with surgeon and everything, and was just waiting on the call toi schedule my surgery) and found out I was pregnant. I am due in January and I am hoping to get my procedure while I am still out on maternity leave but is a month or two too soon to have the procedure? I don plan on breastfeeding, but not exclusively, so the baby will be used to formula already. I have already sent a message to my surgeon and am still awaiting an answer but I'm getting really impatient. Any advice would be handy, and thanks in advance!
