Yes, I am using the best surgeon I could find, Dr. Andrew DeWitt in Birmingham, Alabama. I did alot of checking before I chose a surgeon. This is a huge investment for me and I wanted someone with a good record. I am glad I don't have to do a strict diet before but I am planning to cut out sugar and carbs a week early so that my body is not craving them and I don't have caffeine headaches while recovering from surgery so i will do two weeks of low carbs and two days of liquids pre-op.

I just got my surgery date and diet. Mine is easy!! For 7 days pre-op, I will be on a low carb diet to shrink the liver. Then I do Clear liquids for 2 days pre-op. I have no room to complain. My surgery date is March 12th. I am excited but nervous. Caro- Birmingham, Alabama

I am getting the surgery on March 12th in Birmingham, Alabama and the cost is $13,500. My husband would never let me go out of the country to have it done and the surgeon I am using is excellent. My insurance excludes WLS.
