  1. While you are waiting for your approval do not be afraid to call your insurance 2-3 times a week. Don't be a pest but keep on them. I found out on 9/22 that I was denied because I called them. I wouldn't not have found out until 10/2 if I would have just waited for the letter. So since I already knew a second letter has been submitted and they have now requested additional information. Out of the 4 things that they have requested 2 of them are done and the other 2 will be done Monday night, 10/6. It is so worth calling them. (I also keep a call log) Just thought I would share.

  10. What was the hardest thing you had to adjust to after you were banded? I am in the very early stages of trying to get approved for the band so it is all I can think about.
  11. Thank you! I am in the process of trying to get approved by my insurance to get banded. My insurance sounds like they will do it! Fingers crossed! I do have problems with low blood sugar a couple of times a week as well so it sounds promising that it shouldn't get worse if I take care of myself.
  12. Has anyone suffered from low blood sugar after banding? And if so was it worse? What were you able to do in order to help control it?
  13. Thanks for the info. I am so worried that I will be turned down. I am feeling a little guilty. Feels like I am giving up. Yet I am excited and hope that I don't get turned down.
  14. No i am very new to this. Have thought about it for a long time but just started asking questions and looking into it yesterday. How happy were you with Dr. Oh and do you know of any other patients? I am schd for the orientation next Friday. Nervous. My insurance today said that this surgery is approved by them often so I may have a good chance. We will have to see.... keeping fingers crossed.
  15. Hi Cindy! Who did your surgery? Did your insurance cover it? Welcome!
