I HAVE CIGNA INSURANCE 35 BMI WHICH IS I MINIMUM I CAN HAVE. I HAVE MY 1ST DR APPT ON 2/7. I LIVE IN DENVER AND HAVE BEEN SHOVELING SNOW FOR DAYS. I GET ON THE SCALE TODAY AND C I HAVE LOST 8 LBS. I CANT BELIEVE I AM SAYING THIS BUT I AM BUMMED THAT I HAVE LOST WEIGHT. IT TOOK ME 1 1/2 mos to get this appt. I dont know what i am going to do it is taking so long to get n with this dr. I know i wont gain 8 lbs back by tues.

My job requires that i lift 100lbs doesnt happen all the time but am concerned about time off. Any suggestions Tks

Hello.... is there anyone out there with a bmi of 35 with cigna insurance? Wondering how hard it is to get approval for the lapband also what happens if u fall below the 35 during the preop diet?

The i am right at 35 bmi. Do u know if i fall below (my ins requires a minimum of 35) on my pre diet if i can still get lapband......i have cigna ins.

I go in on feb 9 for my 1st appt. I am worried though i have cigna insurance and they require 6 mo. Supervised diet. I am at 35 bmi with high blood pressure, depresion & borderline high cholestral. Im afraid if i lose any weight they wil deny me. Any advise anyone? Just a side note i have been on just about every diet out there.....weight watchers probably 70 times, slim for life, atkins, jenny craig & alot of different diet pills & a bunch of gym memberships. Nothing seems to work. Thanks for all your advise

Omg you & i are just alike.. i need 6mos supervision dieting & my bmi is 35 now. Ive done Weight Watchers, Slim 4 life ,atkins, every diet u can think of for the past 30 years. Just want to be prond of myself & live my life. Just dont want to be turned down on month 6. Tks for listening

I realllyyyy know what you mean I am in the same situation. I do not have a high enough bmi (33) but have tried every single diet known to man and I admit I am good at losing the weight but for 30 years I have not been able to keep it off. I know I can't do this alone and the lapband will work for me but I can't afford to self pay and the insurance just doesn't seem to care. I get soooo frustrated !!!!!

CIGNA HELP PLEASE......Thanks for the info earlier but i do have just a few more questons if you have the time....well i called the Dr. Office explained im rt at 35bmi and do have high blood pleasure. So they are good with that im worried about the 6 mos. Dieting if i fall under the 35 bmi will i know longer quailify for lapband? And what r they looking for besides that we understand our food choices. Just am worried they will deny me i have dieted for over 30 years and know the lapband would work for me. Insurance I am so happy for you. I also have cigna i heard they were hard to get approval from. How long did it take to get approval i heard you have to go through 6 mo. Nutrition...is that corect?
