Lisa, glad everything went smooth, thanks for letting me know, now I know what to expect. I have about a two hour drive there and back. Im a self pay patient, my insurance doesn't cover anything so I'm hoping to have surgery sooner. My brother had his lap band done 2 yrs ago this July and he has lost 109 lbs. I have been thinking about doing this for along time, and then he done it so I thought I would wait and see how he did. I want to tell you a little about myself, I'm 48 diabetic have been for about 20+ years, so that is my main reason I what to do this. I'm sick of having to take two insulin shots a day. I have tried every diet out there and have lost weight only to gain it back plus more. Right now I weigh the most I have ever weighed and I would just like to feel healthy again. I'm super excited for both of us, keep in touch. Debbie

I have been toying with the idea of having surgery for two years now. My brother had it 2 years ago and is doing great. He has lost 109 lbs. So that also gave me a positive outlook. I'm 48, a stay at home grandma ( I babysit my grandkids) and love ever minute of it. It also showed me I need to be in better health so I can be around to watch these precious little ones grow up. I have been a type 2 diabetic for over 20 years taking insulin shots daily. So I hope this will help me or do you think it's to late? I'm having my surgery with dr trace curry in Ohio.
