  1. good for you! We need to learn ways to celebrate that don't require food AND we need to learn to celebrate the smaller things along the way to our big goals and dreams. Thanks for sharing.
  2. i am greatful for your story!!!! honored for you to share it with us as I resonate with it on so many levels. Thank you !
  3. Congrats, what are you doing to celebrate accomplishing this milestone?
  4. You all are so inspiring, thank you. I guess I am mourning my old 'friend' which is food abuse and I fear that I wont learn new habits during my honeymoon phase.
  5. These are all great ideas and philosophies, thanks for sharing and keep us updated 2B!
  6. I am currently 6.5 wks post op and trying to find my way in terms of what will be successful for me. I believe that my weight issue has been a result of food abuse. In the past, I learned that deprivation will not work. I learned that receipes will not work since I have very little time working and with two small kids. I am happy to have a meal with my family much less cook three different meals - also I don't cook much to begin with.... My question is has anyone had long term succes or reached their goal by merely decreasing or restricting the volume of food they eat in addition to a commited excercise plan?
  7. This is a great question! Thanks for asking it
  8. Thanks for sharing! You are a huge inspiration!
  9. Good for you! You are in charge of your destiny, your life and your health. Thanks for sharing!
  10. Hi I am just wondering if it is possible to escape this part of the process or if I am destined to have it happen to me. If you've missed this fun portion, can you let me know what you think made the different for you? I tried taking zinc the other day and spent the day on the lu I have been getting in 65-80g protein/day and hoping to keep that up. I am only 5 wks post op.
  11. I think this is a very personal topic. My husband knows and my best friend knows. That is it. I know myself well enough to know that I wouldn't like to discuss the details. Because one I tell someone there will be a flood of questions For me, I was uncomfortable being asked questions and talking about it so I figured better to not share that. I contemplated telling everyone since I am a terrible liar however I agree with Vance since I am taking in a ton less calories and trying to stay away from carbs and sugar and successfully keeping my protein up. You should really look inside to find your own answer. You know the answers, listen to your self. Besides remember that we are always here if you need to chat about anything should you decide to keep it to yourself Best of luck and keep us posted what you decide.
  12. Too funny I just bought 2 ramekins at Target and they had a plastic cover so that I can make something in them and only eat half and put the rest in the fridge for later. I love my new ramekins, thanks for reminding me how great they are!! Great idea!!
  13. I'm having a hard time getting over 700 cal in a day but working on it! Best of luck! I am walking 2-3/wk for roughly 40-60 min too. Keep up the excellent work!!!
  14. Thanks, I did take potassium and that is when the cramp went away. I will probably have bananas soon once I am cleared for solid food great idea!
  15. Thanks I just visited my PCP and my bloood pressure was perfect! I forgot the exact numbers but it was exactly the same as pre op. (I think like 118:72 or lower).
  16. I am almost 4 weeks post op and get very dizzy while I am standing up. Sometimes it happens when I get up quickly and other times it is when I am just standing. The other day I almost passed out in the grocery store. Kinda scary.. I am drinking 70-90 oz fluid daily and getting in 70+g protein and 600-800 cal per day. My pcp has asked me to increase my cal to 1000 cal per day and increase my sodium. I have a low bmi so I am happy to do that. I also had a calf cramp for almost 2 weeks which is gone now that I started taking potassium. Pcp is testing for blood clots. has anyone ever had one that can share?

  18. Crate and Barrel has them and most other cooking stores (Ie Williams Sonoma, Sur la Table and I'll bet Target has them as well) Enjoy! They are fun!
  19. Great Ideas folks! at the end of the day, I am sticking to Mashed Potatoes and yogurt and Peanut Butter I can't wait to eat again (in my mind) and it really has been a lesson in 21 days of head hunger and noticing that my tummy can take it or leave it
  20. Ok , I know this is silly. Has anyone every put a pizza in the blender? I have a head hunger craving for pizza.... I am only 18 days post op and have been following the diet to a tee so far. just wondering how far one can take "mushees".... What is the craziest thing you've every put in the blender during the mushee phase?
