  1. Maryan, This happened to me a few days after surgery. Even Water was disgusting and that is all I drink, could you imagine. While I was able to get a lot of water down immediately after surgery, I was mindful to not 'gulp'.. Oh, this will pass, you will get your taste buds back very soon. Hang in there ((hugs))
  2. oh god I was drained for weeks, LOL Honestly, everyone heals at their own pace. I still have days where I have little energy. I still have somebloatedness and swelling. I think you are doing great
  3. Wishing you lots of luck! Keep us all informed on your progress...
  4. I have to agree with everyone who has posted. Go back to basics as if you were to 'start' all over again. Follow the plan and I assure you will be right back on track! We are all here for ya! You can do it!!!!!
  5. Ingrediants: 2 ounce Bumble Bee chicken Breast (packed in water) "blenderized" 1/8 cup Fresh Avacado (fork blended) depending on how soft it is. 2 tsp. guacamole seasoning 2 tbs. Mango Salsa (Paul Newman's own) is by far the best! Directions: Mix chicken breast, avacado, and seasoning together. Dollop with mango salsa. Enjoy! Calories: 137 Protein: 14 grams **this was served in an avacado shell**
  6. Congrats! May you keep on having continued weight loss success
  7. I envy all of you! I barely get 30, but I do strive every day to do more. The fact is I cannot drink my protein. This happened after surgery and because I couldn't drink protein for 8 days after surgery the surgeon made a decison to start me on very liguidy mushy foods, but made it clear it had to be liquidy. I am able to eat my protein inside the foods, but still cannot drink it. I am 3 weeks post-op and will be on mushy foods for the next 2 weeks. I am taking a multivitamin, vitamin d, calcium, and biotin pill every day.

  10. Yaaaaaa El_Cid! Congrats, and continued success! You are doing great!
  11. I was happy I was told I could go swimming 2 weeks post op. I am moving a lot around the water lately, yesterday I walked around the pool at least a dozen times. Dove underneath water tons of times. the only thing I felt was a small tiny tugging around my port area when I had to get out of the pool to climb the ladder, I was very careful, actually I really crawled up the ladder and just took my time, but let me tell you when you are wet climbing out of the water it feels like you weight 10 pounds heavier! blah! I spent 5 hours straight moving around the water and it felt good, .. no pressure, no pain. It felt really good to be in the water. I soooo love the water!!
  12. I really think you have to find another surgeon. I was given a full and complete plan 'before' my surgery. It is about as thick as small book and outlines everything I should be eatting from stage 1 through stage 5. Including menus on the back. No one is perfect, we all make mistakes.. I am very early on and do not know a lot, I have joined this forum back in December and learn from others, its really does put things into perspective. I am sure I too will make mistakes down the road. Right now I am very much scared of my band, and do follow my surgeons rules as I hope that I will always do, but like I said we are all only human and will make mistakes. I wish you the best of luck, you have come to the right place for moral support, guidiance, and encourangement. I for one think you are doing a great job with your weight loss! -Patty
  13. Thats the beauty of this site, we are all always there for eachother no matter what! Through the good bad and ugly...
  14. Jean, while I am in this early in the game i agree that it is very important to have an understanding compassionate surgeon, one who actually listens. Because NO one knows your body better than you do. I also have chosen one of the best surgeons in New Jersey who have 4 bariatric surgeons available. If I don't get the head huncho, I know I will always get one out of the 4 who will be there for me and listen. Not to mention the excellent staff who caters to me every time I call or visit. I think this is a huge part of being a successful weight loss pateint.
  15. Hello to all my July Bandsters! Roll Call.......... How are you doing so far?? 2 and 1/2 weeks post-op here. Not 100% yet. Still very bloated, swollen especially on one side, minor discomfort. Incisions are healing nicely (i have dermabond). Drinking lots of fluids, keeping hydrated. Started mushy stages getting in about 2-4 ounces twice a day, sometimes 3 times a day. Yesterday I actually got in a sugar free vanilla pudding and smashed a few slices of bananas in it. Started taking a Multivitamin (liquid form) for now until I can swallow Vitamin pills. I am only going to the bathroom #2 once every several days. I can't wait for that to go back to normalcy. Reaching about 20-30 grams of Protein a day, still trying to shoot for the required 60. Trying to move around more,I am working on this.... Hope you are all doing well...
  16. I love breakfast, its my favorite part of the day...Now since I am banded I can't do breakfast 'right away' because the first thing I do when getting up is drink tons of water so my belly is completely full. As I sit here and type this I am waiting for 12 noon to roll around so I can eat.I usually give myself a half hour after I drink water to eat anything. No, I will not skip it because I only eat 2-4 ounces per meal and need my nutrients to stay healthy avoiding becoming sick, thus avioiding in the future to be tempted by unhealthy foods by 'skipping' meals.
  17. 18 days post-op here. I am still very bloated, swollen on one side more than the other. Feels like i am going to give birth. I already had my first post op vist and surgeon said incisions look great.I have dermabonding. Sleeping a lot better on my belly now! I can feel as the days go by I do feel a lot better. I am in the mushy stages now
  18. Hi Memphisfan, Firstly, you have a difficult job with a tight hectic schedule with mimimal breaks. You really need to plan your days accordingly with food in order to make the band work for you. Vomiting is not one of them, and as everyone has said you are going to do more damage, possibly losing your 'lifeline',your band. I am almost 3 weeks post-op and I can honestly tell you that every time I look at my incisions or feel my soreness its a reminder of what I had done to take drastic measures to lose weight and keep it off. I am following my surgeons orders to a tee! It scares me to think if something happen to my band due to my own fault and wind up in surgery again! You should not be throwing up, this is an idication of something is wrong, like your band being too tight. You have to take control of your own body and well being, no matter what! If you don't like your surgeon, find another there are tons of bariatric surgeons all over this country. Lastly, preparing your lunch and Snacks home daily for you to be ready to eat and take your time to enjoy your food. You can bring items such as sugar free puddings or Jello on your short breaks. your lunch can consist of your own homemade meals put in a container ready to eat or if your area has a microwave you can heat up Soups and such. The possibilites are endless to making your weight loss a success, it really is up to you... Best of luck,
  19. Hi Harmony, I am 2 weeks post-op and my entire stomache is swollen, bloated, and tender. Especially around my port area. Tender to the touch even! However, I noticed it is getting a tiny bit better as the days go by. Oh, did I mention I feel as though I am ready to give birth to a 10 pound child, LOL Hang in there!
  20. Wonderful to hear your success story! Thanks for sharing, and Congratulations!!
  21. O wow,I didn't know they stil sell Alba77... i use to have that when I was on the weight watchers program. I loved that stuff. I remember making candy bars with Alba 77 chocoloate..mmmmmmmmm good!!
  22. OHH this is so normal! I am 2 weeks post-op and still swollen, bloated, and have discomfort. I especially have bareable pain near my port side. Its still sensative to the touch, but every day its getting better .... Hang in there!!
