  1. Lol that's true ... Thanks I'm hoping my age will help it bounce back.... And I'm sure there are exercises that will tighten skin... I appreciate you not being extremely upset with the skin... That helps a lot... I think I was just being dramatic lol
  2. Ok... So I've pretty much decided to get the lap band surgery.... My main concern is excess skin. Are there any banders out there who can give me advice in how to keep it tight?
  3. So my orientation is on Jan. 12.... Just wanted to know if I'll see anyone there from the forum
  4. Omg thank you... I have kaiser insurance so Idk much about the requirements just how much I have to pay ($15). Its smart that you don't have to have any other health problems ... I don't want any health problems and that's why I want the surgery
  5. You, my friend, are a genius that's a great idea. I think I might just do the same thing.
  6. I know I'm posting a lot of questions but this is the only place where I can get answers lol. But I want to get the surgery but I have no obesity related diseases. I'm pretty darn healthy. Is having a bmi of 46 going to be enough? I want to lose weight before I develop any obesity related diseases.
  7. Thank you... I'm glad that I already know that my insurance covers it with a fifteen dollar copay. I'm just coping with the fact that its going to take much longer then I had anticipated. I think all the other test will go well. I'm just so excited lol
  8. Lol I think that's happening with my friend too. I'm sure they'll come around. I've already made up my mind and its honestly unchangeable now. I'm just ignoring all the negativity and counting down the days until my next appointment
  9. Thank you for the support. I talked with my sister today and laid down the facts and she decided that she's going to be in it with me from now until finish. She's taking me to all my appointments. I think with the support of this website and my sister I'll be fine. I also think that once my parents see how I feel once I start losing weight they'll be on my side. Again thank you all
  10. Thank you all for the information. I'm moving to Atlanta from Sacramento
  11. Thank you so much. And even if I don't I know I'll be okay. It's just frustrating.
  12. Thank you... I only looked at the insurance to see if I'm covered ( I am with a $15 copay !!:-)) but I will also look for the other requirements
  13. Than you all... This website has helped me in so many ways... I have friends who have lost 100lbs by diet and exercise they are against me having it done. I have another friend who is super skinny and she doesn't want me to get it done ( but I don't take weigh loss advice from someone who's never been overweight) and I think if I sit them down like you said then they might be more supportive.
  14. My dad is against me having any type of surgery. He doesn't know how much I weigh because you really can't tell by looking at me and they think I'm taking "the easy way out".
  15. I'm planning to move out of state but I want to do it after I have my surgery. I've already been to the class and my next step is to meet with the surgeon. I know I have a psych eval after but I want to know how long the whole process will take. I'm in Sacramento California at kaiser permanente
  16. I'm really excited for the lap band but the majority of my friends and family are urging me to not get the surgery. I've been overweight my entire life. I weigh 330 pounds and I'm only 21. My parents won't take me to the appointments( which is 2hours away). I'm so ready to start a new life but it seems that no one is supporting me. What should I do.
