completing day 9 today. I too have been off the pain meds, But i notice my back has been hurting. Yes, a little tender on my belly on one spot but otherwise no problems. I have decided to continue on clear liquids as i long as i can do it.
my doc had me do a 2week pre-op of two meal replacements (isopure strawberries n cream protein shake which i mixed with a powerade zero grape) for dinner 4-6 oz lean meat and upto 3 non-starchy vege's
i dropped 35lbs pre-surgery! I was not allowed more than 45 carbs in a day.
It worked !!!
Way to go ginajeans! stick with it!!!
I am also on day 7 today. I lost 9lbs since surgery. I knew according to my paperwork that clear liquids (broth, wtr sf popsicles) for first 7 days, then move into full liquids which includes my protein. So i call the office to ask a couple of diet questions and the PA tells me to not start into full liquids until my stomach tells me that i am hungry. So here it sit on clear liquids! I do worry for how long i should go with no nutrients or protein? Anyone have any thoughts on this you might have learned from others or your doctor?
thanks
surgery 12-6-11
i was given a prescription for prilosec 20mg twice daily.
the other was ursodiol 300mg once daily-- prevents gall stones.
i also take multi vit, 1500calcium w/d & b-12 1000
hey & way to go !!!!
i had my sleeve 12/6/11. I am at a 9 lb loss! I have been on clear liquids only and thought moving into week two i could add a protein shake (zero carb). called doctors, they want me to go for as long as i can into week two on clear liquid without protein if i am doing /feeling fine and not hungry. Which gratefully, i am still not feeling hunger , just lots of distracting smells and sights of holiday tempting me which i have been easily able to set aside.
hey all just had my sleeve done last tues 12-6. That day was a blur, i remember getting my iv, taking a small pill, meeting the anesthelogist and then out, next thing is i am waking up in my room with my family. It wasn't a bad deal at all! No drain and spent one night in the hospital. All is well after one week!
Been walking and drinking and haven't eaten a thing for one whole week wow! thats a weird one.
The surgery and hospital all were a very positive experience!
Good luck to you all
