When Will I Be Full?
Thanks Cazzy!! Frustrated may be the wrong word .. I think more like depressed, thinking why did I do this ... just wanting the weight to come off quickly. But I totally understand what you are saying and I am glad that the fills are given a little at a time for safety precautions. Thanks for the advice .. I have been trying to eat better and exercise more! I am still learning. Thanks for the input.

When Will I Be Full?
I just got my first fill two days ago. I have a 10cc band and I have 4cc's in it now. I notice that I am eating less, but I get hungry often. I am getting a little discouraged because I have only lost a few pounds. I have read that it is normal to get discouraged in the first few months until the band is filled to the proper level. I also had a hernia repaired when I had my surgery. The nurse told me from now on that they will only put in 1cc until I get to 6cc's in the band and then .5cc's monthly after that (if I need it). The nurse lead me to believe that they hardly ever go over 6cc's in the band..Is this correct? After reading posts it seems people need alot of saline to feel full.

Day 5 Post Lap Band Surgery. What Can We Eat???
I have also noticed that all doctors are different with their preop and postop diets. I am on day 7 postop and I have been on clear liquids for a week. Tomorrow I get to start thicker liquids, such as creamed soups. I will be on that for 7 days and then I start mushies. I also get my protein shakes twice a day. I make them different by adding a little peanut butter, some honey, and/or a little vanilla extract. Good luck to all!

Day 5 Post Lap Band Surgery And Really Hungry!!
Thank you for the suggestions! I have read other posts where people say they are not hungry at all, but I guess everyone is different. I am concerned that I have not lost any weight since my surgery, but have been on liquids since then.

Day 5 Post Lap Band Surgery And Really Hungry!!
I had my lap band done 5 days ago and for the first 3 days I couldn't even think about food. But yesterday (Day 4) I started getting hungry and craving anything. I am supposed to be on Clear liquids for 7 days, but yesterday I made myself some tomato Soup and put extra Water in it to make it really thin. I also get 1 Protein shake per day for the first 7 days. Even though I was really hungry feeling I only drank a little and I was full. Now today my tummy is growling and I am hungry!! I am thinking of starting my thicker liquids today, but just watering them down (like I did the tomato soup). The pain is not as bad as it was and I am actually feeling good, except for being hungry. Any thoughts are appreciated. Holly

Who Are You Telling About Your Lap Band Surgery?
I told all four of my sisters, my family, and my husband's family. They all have been very supportive. It is definitely up to you who all you tell and don't feel obligated to tell anybody anything. Lluna - That is sad that your friend could not be more supportive and happy for you! Just keep up the good work and don't let people like that get you down.

Having The Lap Band Put On 12/13/11
Congrats on getting your lap band. I got mine on December 8th and it does take a lot of internal strength to get through the liquid diet. It is well worth it in the long run (that's what I keep telling myself)! My son is leaving in February to go to Basic Training in the Air Force and he will be gone for 3 months. I would like to surprise him when he comes back by losing some weight. I have been heavy my whole life and obesity runs in my family. I lost 10 lbs in my pre-surgery diet and I am now 235 lbs. My husband has been very supportive and we cash paid for the surgery. I don't enjoy exercising or sweating, but I have been told once you get into the routine you crave exercise. Good luck on your journey and keep us posted!

Day 2 And Pain Is Crazy
Hello everyone, My name is Holly and I was banded yesterday morning. When I got home yesterday afternoon the pain was so unbearable that I almost started crying. My husband went to get my pain medicine and gas x and then I started feeling better. I did not get much sleep last night because of the uncomfortable, painful feeling in my stomach. I try to walk around as much as I can, but get tired quickly and hurt really bad. I can't lay on my back and I am basically having to sit up with pillows behind me. I am on thin liquids for another five days and then go to thicker liquids. Does this get easier? I never imagined there would be so much pain, it even hurts to breathe in deeply. I am trying to be positive and keep thinking about how much I wanted this surgery and for how long. Thanks
