  3. omg i have been getting gas after eating too im soooo annoyed
  4. yeah slimfast isnt the best thing to drink especially right after surgery you def need something with less sugar and of higher quality. try premium protein from costco i really liked that also sugar free jello, sugar free pudding, sugar free mouse, roasted tomato soup from trader joes
  5. i just stood up and had a small "pain" or discomfort in my left side i kept experimenting to see in what positions it would hurt. i sat down and i felt it again. its been at least 5 hrs since my last meal so i dont think its from that .... has anyone experienced this ? makes me a little concern
  6. i like making bbq chicken with canned chicken just add bbq sauce and warm it up a little. im also looking for canned tuna or chicken recipes im trying to eat soft food right now since i just got a fill and my band seems to be too tight right now =/
  7. hang in there i felt the same way and even started getting emotional during pre opt...... in fact i posted this on Jan 1 ............ "i have been on the pre opt diet for almost 2 weeks and getting close to my surgery date (JAN 4th) and this liquid diet has made me realize how much food is a part of my life and how much of an emotional eater i have been. i have literally broken down into tears a few times because of the emotional impact of this diet. it may have a lot to due with the fact that my liquid diet started dec 22 so it has gone on through the holidays and seeing everyone eat together and seeing all the joy that it brings to them made me a bit nostalgic. its been tough but also an eye opener to realize that i am so attached to food and to realize all the feelings that it can bring about. i didn't realize how emotional this journey was going to be. and i guess in any other emotional situation i would recruit to food but this time i can't and i think that is why i had a few break downs, because i can no longer find comfort and consolation in food and that brings me a since of loneliness ( as pathetic as that might sound) but i guess now is when i start the journey of realizing that food wasnt or shouldnt be the solution to an emotional situation but the problem. so its time to end this bad relationship and break up with food. " its completely normal to feel emotional during this journey as someone mentioned before its normal to morn the life we left behind the only life we have ever known
  8. sorry to hear you had a rough start but glad your surgery is on its way. i say the sooner the better just hold on for the ride. at least for me the beginning of my journey was the hardest emotionally but well worth it and believe me i totally understand about being on pre diet during the holidays i was my pre diet during xmas and new years it was so emotionally difficult for me but all so well worth it now im 7 months post surgery and 70 lbs lighter feels great
  9. no it all depends on ur starting weight if your on the heavier side its easier to lose a lot of weight fast also during the beginning its really common to lose a lot of weight fast because your body is shocked by the changes in diet. as long as your taking your vitamins and getting your protein and water in i say enjoy the pounds melting off so easy because later come the plateaus now those are frustrating
  10. I had lapband surgery jan 4 2012 and now after 6 months I just found out I now have gallstones and may have to have surgery I was wondering if anyone had their gallbladder removed after lapband surgery ? Do u have to get unfilled? How's recovery did it set you back in weight loss?

  16. i had my 3rd fill yesterday and today i every time i have had a meal i have gotten something stuck. what should i do ? does this mean i will never be able to tolerate the foods im getting stuck or is it temporary since the fill was just yesterday ?
  17. ahhhh that was uncomfortable =/ it only lasted about 2 mins
  18. honestly it depends on how active you are. i am extremely active i work out 5 times a week and twice with a personal trainer. so my nutritionist told me i needed more carbs in my diet. but if your not very active then you need to cut out carbs. also even though they added carbs to my diet she recommend i have them early in the day like at breakfast or early lunch so that i burn them off before bed time. no carbs recommended at dinner
  19. i took a week off i will also remind you to make sure you take all ur vitamins and maybe some extra vitamin C because when i went back to work it was cold season and my immune system was prob weak from being on liquids and surgery that i kept getting colds like crazy from being around all my sick students
  20. i was 257 5'3 and got single incision. my surgeon did tell me that i needed to follow the pre op diet strictly in order to do it but i did and i was able to have the single incision
  21. oh cool mine was Dr Thoman in california. good luck with your surgery single incision is great and fast recovery
  22. YESSSSSSS i love it. i had a single incision surgery and loved it everything went well healing is usually faster and easier and the tiny scar is hidden in my belly button. there are only a few drs who do single incision .....who is ur dr?
