<p>Having been overweight most of my adult life I realized that the longer I was 'morbidly obese' the shorter my life would be...that's when I looked into gastric surgery. The process of getting ok'd for surgery took about 7 months and I never thought it was the wrong decision. I am only 1 week out of surgery and am surprised at the little pain there is with the lap band surgery! Adjusting to eating is going to be a learning curve, one which I am nervous about!</p>
