    So I Guess I Failed Already ......

OH, I am right there with you....I was banded on 10/28 and lost 36 pounds by Thanksgiving. Of course I was on the liquid diet and never varied at all!! I had my first fill on 12/6 and thought it was awesome. For a week I was following the diet plan, exercising, etc. but no weight loss. Then came the holidays and all of the sugary junk I used to eat somehow kept going into my mouth. I called my doctor and have an appointment on 1/4. I am sure they are going to do another fill which mentally is helping me prepare to go at it again. I started exercising again in the past few days and slowly weaning myself all the sugary stuff. One thing I am beginning to accept it that I make wrong choices. I wish I didn't. I wish I was stronger, but I am not. So, with that acceptance I am trying not to beat myself up, get back to doing what I should, and let the chips fall where they may. Everyday that I put a little less in my mouth or make a better choice in food, I feel one step closer to a better me.To be honest, there are many reasons why I am overweight....my genes, my lack of self-control, and my lowered self-esteem. With that combination, nothing is going to be easy and it will always be a struggle. Fortunately, I feel my determination and stubborn streak setting in. We all have our own journeys and I encourage you to think of the situation without it being personal. If this was your friend, what would you tell her? Look at your diet, exercise more, drink more water, take your vitamins! We all know this....now let's do it! Good luck!
  2. I just had my first fill on Friday. I am have a headache, nauseau, and frequent bowel movements. Has anyone had this reaction or is it just a coincedence that I am sick at the same time?
  3. I had surgery on October 28th and was doing fantastic (down 25 pounds) until Saturday. Since then I have been ravenous! I started adding strength training to my exercise program and am so pmsing (sorry guys!). It was so easy and then "pow!". It is like I never had the surgery. I am scheduled for a fill on Friday. From your experience do you think my band is too loose? Will this getting better after I am filled? Sincerely, Struggling in Memphis!
  4. Wow...I have been waiting for my first fill because I thought I was feeling hungry! My Nutritonist has me on 3oz of protein and 2oz of veggies/fruit at each meal only. I am also at about 800 calories and 50 oz. of water per day. I am losing between 1-2.5 pounds per week. I am also walking about 1-1.5 miles about 5-7 days per week. Hope something in this post helps.

    Hungry After Lap Band Surgery

Omg....me too. I am hungry and never feel satisified. Hoping the fill is what I need (Dec. 2)
  6. I am two and a half weeks out of surgery. I started eating this week (3 oz. protein, 2 oz. fruit/veggie- per meal and 3 dairy). I am hitting about 800 calories a day, between 65-80g of protein. For exercise, I am walking about 1-1/2 miles per day. I am consuming about 50-80oz. of liquids. I haven't lost any weight in two weeks, tired all the time. and today the moodiness set in. I can't focus at work and cry at anything emotional. Did any of this happen to you? I feel so lost today....

    Flying on liquids

I travel all the time! I put the Protein powders, a small rubermaid drinking bottle, crystal light single packets, and benefiber singles in my personal carry-on. Then when I get across security, I buy milk and Water. You can also bring cup a soup powder packs and buy hot water at the coffee shops (they usually give it to me for free). You can do it!! Just a bit of pre-planning!

    Liquid diet - any suggestions

Are you taking Fiber in between meals? I had to so I would add two-three teaspooons of Benefiber in my Crystal Light in between meals. Mixes in smooth. It really helped!
  9. Hello! I had my band surgery on October 28th. From October 13th until November 3rd I lost 13 pounds! I was thrilled. Since November 3rd though I have been stuck at the same weight. I am still on the liquid diet (shake in morning, yogurt for lunch, and shake at dinner, with water and broth in between). I even have been walking every day. So why is the weight not coming off? I know it should be slow - about 2 pounds per week, but this week has been nothing. With a high protein, low calorie diet, with exercise you think there would be some loss. Did anyone else experience this? Does any one have suggestions??
  10. Banded 10/28/11 - lost 25.5 pounds so far! (That includes 10 pre-op!)
