  1. My port is on my left side but I also have occasional pain on my right just below the incision area. The other morning I woke up, moved and a terrible burning/stinging sensation doubled me over. I could allow ANYTHING to touch the area because it hurt so bad. I called the nurse and she said it was me still healing. My first thought was "this does NOT feel like healing", but I trust my Dr and nurse. I didn't work that day, rested and by that evening I was feeling better. So it seems they were rt. I now don't over do it even if I feel terrific.

    Hungry After Lap Band Surgery

Thank you all for your support and advice. I am so glad I found this site.
  3. I am starting to get hungry now. I eat and I still want more. What do I do? There are other times when I am not really hungry but I don't fill full and I just want something. I'm afraid I will over eat and mess something up. Even if I did over eat, how would I know? I am going on 3wks post-op. My first fill is scheduled for 12/12/11. What do I do?

    Hungry After Lap Band Surgery

I measure everything to keep it under a cup, that tends to help the over eating part along with TRYING to make it last for 30min. I try drinking protein shakes and that's okay as long as I'm at home since they make me pooh. Drinking them at work isn't possible. But I still want to eat. I keep looking for the pre-signs that I am full but now I can't tell. I'm wondering it I have some how stretched my pouch. I wouldn't know what that feels like so I don't know. I get my first fill on Dec 12. I hope that helps. Does anyone eat snacks and if so what and how long after you have eaten your meal?

    Hungry After Lap Band Surgery

I had hoped for some advice but I understand people have their own issues to deal with. Thank you for allowing me to post. I will research the forums for suggestions.

    A Tiny Thanksgiving Dilemma

I agree with the not going because you will not feel well. You probably won't. Plus if you know he is going to be THAT opinionated and negative about what you do with your own body that will make you healthier, why would you want that kind of person around you. Trust me when I say you want to have supportive people around you. But the ultimate opinion is going to be yours so do what you think is right for YOU!! good luck with your surgery.
  8. I am still having the same pain as you all. I thought I was ripping apart. Went to my first post op today and he said everything looked really good.
  9. I was banded November 1. I go to my 1st post-op appt today. I am really hoping their scales match mine.

    cheating

I cheated today. I am 2wks post op and I had bread that I baked. I think it got stuck and I am dying. I have burped and thrown up foamy stuff for 21/2 hrs. I will NEVER do that again. I hope I haven't messed anything up.
  11. I was so happy to find this forum. I've had issues with my wt just like everyone else has and I'm excited about this journey. I was just banded last Tuesday and so far I'm 9lbs down. The only pain issues I have dealt with concerned the hernia fix they did at the same time. As far as being hungry I haven't had an issue with that. I HAVE wanted to eat though. It's hard to fix supper and NOT be able to eat it but it's all good. It will be worth it in the end. That has turned into my daily mantra. I look forward to reading the forum for suggestions to make this a SUCCESSFUL journey.

    What is going ON?

I'm glad I found this post. I just had my surgery Tuesday and don't really know WHAT I can have. I am on the liquid diet but terrified I will sip too much. Already tired of what I am sipping when I am fixing my family their meals. I am gassy, which is painful, hurts to yawn, cough and laugh and a little difficult getting up and down, but other then that I'm okay. My stomach is gurgley but can't tell if it's me being hungry or if that is just gas too. I go to my first post op appt on the 16th. Any input is great. I'm learning so much from this site.
