Staying Patient While Waiting For Restriction
Hi M...I'm right there with you!! I was banded 11/9/11. Have had only 2 fills so far I feel no restriction yet at all. I've lost 30 lbs...most in the first 2 months. Getting a bit frustrated as well. I got the band because I need the help/tool. I'm an emotional eater and so far the band hasn't helped me...was looking forward to the restriction stopping me from eating too much. I have an appointment tomorrow with my doc. He has told me in the past that he likes to wait a good 6 months before really filling up so that the stomach is all healed. I get that but my concern is my overeating and the damage that could cause. I'm confused, worried and a bit scared. I desperately want to find that sweet spot...or at least feel some restriction. I know it's different for everyone and I'm trying to be patient. I hope you get some restriction from this fill and get another soon! I feel your pain Keep us posted. Take care, Deb

November Bandsters!!!
Hi All, I got my band on Wednesday. The whole procedure went so smooth. I checked in at 7:30 am and was heading home at noon! I had an hiatal hernia which the doc repaired...guess that's fairly common??? Anyway, today is day 5 and I'm feeling pretty good....a little gas pain and some soreness at the port site mostly. I do get tired quickly so I'm taking it easy. Back to work on Tuesday...hopefully. My follow up is scheduled for Thursday afternoon. Haven't been hungry. Drinking lots of Water, some diluted grape or cranberry juice plus Protein shakes. A friend suggested Light Muscle Milk (chocolate flavor). They're pretty good and seem to fill me up. I am so excited for the future that my band will bring!!! Wishing you all the best! Good luck to those whose surgery is yet to come. Deb
