    August Sleevers Check In

I'm now 15 days post op...saw my dr 2 days ago. 15 pounds & 4% body fat lost. He said the body fat was the most important and was very pleased thus far. I'm released to eat some soft solids...actually was missing my soups so I've been adding finely chopped chicken to my soups plus some non fat Greek yogurt and a little cheese. I can get a 5oz serving down if I go slow (about 30 min) and figure it contains about 35 grams protein and about 200 - 250 calories...plus it's delish! Still a little tender on one incision but getting better daily. Tuesday I was starving (pms) and woofed down some chicken and a soft granola bar....not good! Had some pain and was uncomfortable for hours, then was constipated in the morning...totally not worth it but lesson learned. I was sleeved 8/25 and for the most part, feel really good! My sister is doing medifast and has lost 20 pounds in 6 weeks. I'm so proud of her but am glad I took this route...I needed the extra help!

    August Sleevers Check In

You are darn right we can sister....thank YOU. I have been struggling ALL my life. I weighed 235 when I was just 17 years old and have gone down, up, down, up...never, ever reaching my goal weight. I have tried everything, everything except wls....we are not in Jenny Craig or Weight Watcher zone here...this is serious stuff. We have undergone a surgery that removed 80% of an organ that we were born with...holy cow! So with that said, we are going to stick it out and do it....time to go to bed. I don't eat when I sleep although sometimes I wish I could handcuff myself to bed. I want to sooo badly get snacks. Now I know that it is comfort and calming I need to go to sleep and food is always the way I do this....and look where it has gotten me! So, I am going to take a melatonin, try to get in bed and fall asleep...tomorrow we will feel better and the next day and the next. Hang in there Golden!

    August Sleevers Check In

Hi There Goldenyelladiva, I totally hear you....I am hungry too...not just "head hunger" but really hungery....BUT, I have a creative protein shake (add some yogurt) or another kind of soup, drink some water and think about why I am doing this...as time passes the hunger goes away and I can get thru another hour or two. I KNOW that I cannot just have a few bites....I have to do something DIFFERENT than what I have done in the past. THIS is definitely different....maybe just knowing that you are not alone will help. YOU have helped me, thank you. We CAN DO THIS! Let's take it an hour at a time...and then one day at a time.
  5. Hi All, Sleeved 8/25, one week ago...I can drink a whole Protein drink as long as I take little sips. Lost 12 pounds total but nothing the last 3 days (sad face). I'm getting 40 min on the treadmill, shooting for 10k steps a day. Would LOVE to eat some real food but staying with Soups and Protein drinks. Got one inscision that is more sore than the others. I go back to work tomorrow. Hang in there all! So glad to be a part of the "no probs so far" group!

Keep the dress? Yay or nay?

Okay, a little self tanners, your beautiful hair down and a smile of confidence! Go for it....if it feels pretty then for $20 it's a keeper! It looks awesome on you.
  7. Liplady, I too was the healthy, active "fluffy" one with the great attitude, beautiful smile and winning personality. I even taught aerobics while being 200+ and my classes were packed. Thought I was okay but the minute I hurt my foot, back, knee, whatever body part gets tired with all the weight I didn't have the energy to fight back. The weight starts to come on...200 becomes 212 and then 220 so fast! I could easily see 250 in the near future. I was sleeved Monday 8/25 and am down 12 pounds so far....at least going in the right direction! Your honesty in your shared story is truly inspiring. You deserve this!! It's in NO WAY the "easy way out". Keep it up lady! Keep inspiring, we got newbies like me coming everyday feeding off these great stories! To all of you out there fighting for this story to be yours (like me), just believe it will happen! And YOU deserve it!
  8. I only had to do 5 days pre op, all liquid....thought I was going nuts. Nights were so hard so I would take a melatonin at 6:30pm and start to wind down, trying to fall asleep by 8. I dropped 7 pounds in my preop days, was sleeved on 8/25 and am down a total of 12....I'm sure most we're done in the preop days. Do whatever you need to pass the time, you'll be so pleased when you get through it!! You can do it! Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels....not even KFC.
