  1. I was also banded by Dr Rumbaut. Wasn't he great? I had it done 4 weeks ago and I can eat just like before. I am getting a fill closer to home in Olympia Washington in two weeks and can't wait. Wasn't Dr Rumbaut great? I really like him and his staff. How was your experience?
  2. I am feeling fine now, so I am not sure what the problem really was. I am glad to know you guys felt odd things too. At least I know it isn't all that unusual.
  3. I did it because it was a much simpler procedure than gastric bypass. From what I understand gastric bypass has a higher rate of success but much higher risks of complications. It was really my only option because I could never bring myself to have the bypass.
  4. I had my surgery 4 weeks ago and I feel just like you. My doc told me that the band isn't actually working until the fill. We just have to make it to that point. My Doc also said that usually there is big weight loss the first 3 weeks then they usually see a few lbs gained before the first fill. I can see how that can happen. Good luck to you! Let me know how you feel after your first fill. You will get yours before me.
  5. Hi guys. I had my surgery 3 weeks ago in Monterrey Mexico and just today it felt like my port sort of popped out. I can feel it now and I haven't noticed it before. I can't say it is painful, but it is just an odd sensation and if I push on the area that feels strange I feel an egg like thing. I am sure that is the port. Is this normal? I am going to call Mexico, but the draw back is that it is hard to get to the doctor when I am available. I have missed him a couple of times. Let me know if you have experienced this and what it might be. Thanks.
  6. Hi everyone. I just had my lap band surgery 3 weeks ago with a wonderful Doc in Monterrey Mexico. I am excited at what the future holds but I do realize that I am still going to have to do some of the work myself. I am hoping I can find support here with other people who have the band. Hope to hear from you guys.
