  1. Hi there, So, today I started day one of my two week pre-op diet of mostly liquids (I can have a few different veggies as well). I'm feeling super famished! (I didn't think I'd be someone who says how hungry they are on their pre-op diet, but I guess I am!). Do any of you have any tips and/or things that have helped you get through this time? Thanks in advance!!
  2. Wow!! Congratulations. Your transformation is amazing. And, inspirational to me as I will begin my (mostly) liquid 2 week pre-op diet the day after tomorrow. Thank you for posting your pics!!
  3. Hi. I lost my Mom due to a pulmonary embolism following a minor surgery, so I can understand your apprehension. I have that a bit as well (and I imagine I may have a more as I get closer to my 6/12 surgery date). Hang in there and I bet you'll be on the other side of your surgery before you know it!
  4. Congrats! SO encouraging to hear that many of you think that your surgery is the best decision you've made. My surgery date is June 12th. I'm excited but I'm also feeling a bit apprehensive. Thanks for your positive words!
  5. Hi Shannon, My original surgery date was the 5th, but I had it moved to the next week (on the 12th). I, too, have three young children and they have way too many end of the year events during the first week of June. I thought it would be less stressful for everyone if I waited until the 12th. I'm looking forward to reading your blog! Take care.
  6. Hi June Sleevers, So my date has changed from the 5th to the 12th. June 5th was just too crazy of a week for my family (a lot of end of the year activities for my kiddos). Looking forward to being on the other side of this surgery! Take care.
  7. Just got my date today. June 5th also!! It'll be so great to have "sleeve sisters!"
  8. Hi there, I thought I'd be a May Sleever, but I just got my date...June 5th. I'm excited to have a date and am looking forward to being on the other side of surgery! I'm also a teacher (although currently I'm a stay-at-home mom). Yay for teachers!
  9. Hey Everyone, So, unfortunately I won't be with you in getting sleeved in May. Just got my date...looks like I'll be a June sleever. Good luck and best wishes to all of you. Looking forward to hearing about your experience and learning from your advice! Take care!!
  10. Hi everyone! So, I started this thread back in February and today I found out that my insurance approved my surgery. Good news! But, I don't have a date yet. I totally know what some of you mean when you say that you feel that your life is on hold. I've been waiting for 2-3 weeks (thinking that the doc's office had already submitted my paperwork, but it must have gotten held up somewhere...maybe due to Easter?). Hoping to still get a date in May...I imagine that I'll find out next week? Hoping to join all of you May Sleevers!!
  11. I'm from Upstate NY (but not in Albany). I should be getting sleeved sometime in May...waiting to hear back from my insurance (hopefully any day now!). Best wishes and good luck on your new journey!
  12. Hi everyone. I'm planning to be sleeved sometime in May -- I just completed my final appointment and now my info can be submitted to my insurance. I'm excited and looking forward to my date!!
  13. Hi, I've been in the "pre-op" stage since the end of December and I'm having a tough time with eating as well lately. I joined WW with a couple of friends in January (they were planning to do it anyway) and I thought it would be good for me (I've done it countless times before with varying degrees of success only to end up gaining it all back plus more). It went well for a few weeks, and then I gained a couple of pounds and got discouraged once again. So, I've been more piggy lately and rather resistant to exercise. I'm not sure what's going on, but I think it might be nerves. My surgery should be sometime at the end of May. Thanks for posting. I was beginning to think that I was the only one having this problem!! Good luck!
  14. I've been following as well and am SO glad that you are feeling better! I second the comment that your new pic is great!! Hoping everything goes smoothly for you from now on!
  15. I just got back from my endoscopy and it really was a breeze. I'm feeling a bit out of it so I'm planning to take a nap to help these drugs wear off a bit. I'm thankful that I don't even have a sore throat. I love having this site as a resource! Thanks everyone.
  16. Thanks for all of the feedback. My endoscopy is tomorrow morning!
  17. I have my endoscopy on Tuesday. It's great to know that it'll be an easy procedure!
  18. Hi there, Just wondering if anyone else is looking at having their sleeve surgery this May? It's too early for me to get an actual date, but I'm thinking it will be toward the end of May. How about you?
  19. Thanks for your update. I'm so glad that you don't have a leak, but I'm sorry that you have such a bad infection. Praying that the IV meds do the trick and you are able to be feeling better asap. Hang in there.
  20. Wow! You look great. I bet you feel great also!!
  21. Oh no! I'm sorry that you are sick. Hang in there tonight - I'm sure many of us will be praying for you and hoping that you just have a bug!! Keep us updated.
  22. I don't have an answer, but I've been wondering the same thing! (It's one of the questions that I have on my list to ask my doctor).
  23. Thank you all SO much for your advice! I appreciate your responses.
  24. Hi, I'm pre-op and planning to have my surgery sometime in May. Just wondering if anyone has a blender that they'd recommend. Thanks!
