    February 2007 bandsters!

My doctor said egg flour soup was okay. I just had some tonight and it was awesome to have warm food for once. I loved the texture too. I had to take the pees, carrots and celery out (well most of it!) If I got a little bit of something in my mouth, I chewed it really well. I am craving a lot of foods but have been loosing.

    sneezing...

The sneezing is the worst for me! I actually hurt near my belly button and I have no incisions near it. It radiates from my belly button to my port incision so I don't know if it's the same muscle my port is stitched to or what. I try hard not to sneeze. It's a sharp burning feeling for several seconds. I am on day six post-op. I am on a liquid diet for FOUR FREAKIN WEEKS! I can have soup right now and my nurse suggestion egg flour soup (w/o chunks of stuff). I'm really craving food. I have my brother in town for a few days and he is eating up a storm. He's cooking pizza and lasanga and drinking soda. JERK! I smell it and start craving food! I'm not super hungry but having heavy cravings! I don't regret the surgery at all but regret not being able to have the foods I wants right now. I am carving carbs...Pad Thai and Quiznos bad!!!!!

    Constipation

I was banded on Monday and still haven't had a BM. I've taken four tablespoons of Milk of Mag and drank 8 oz of prune juice? How long did it take for everyone to have any results. I haven't even had a "marble." I am gassy though. I'm drinking a lot of water but that only helps me urinate. Also it takes a while for me to urinate now too. Don't know if that's a side effect of the medication or what.

    Support In Oregon?

Dr. Tersigni is banding me on 2/26. He seems to be a great guy and his office staff are very nice and helpful. I am self-pay and took out a loan. I have control issues and am nervous about the upcoming date but was told they'd give me something to calm me before going back. :faint: I'm gonna ask for some sleeping meds for afterwards too.:notagree If you are interested in his practice, his website is www.baybariatric.com (formerly nwbariatric). His special is 10k but there are other costs too but my insurance paid for some of them (phych, labs, pre-op, ect.). His staff made me feel very comfortable, especially Robin and Mindi.

    February 2007 bandsters!

:omg: My surgery is scheduled for 2/26. I have control issues am am quite nervous about going under. They said they'd give me something to relax prior to going in. I hope it works well. Somone mentioned a sleep aid after the surgery? Did your primary prescribe it or did your surgeon? I think that'd be best for me the first couple days. My doc said I'll have five incision marks with my port under my zyphoid (this location was at my request due to my duty belt). How long is everyone planning on taking off work? I am taking 2/26-3/15 off and returning on the 16th due to my line of work (Police). TJ
