  3. Well since I started this, here is my original post: I am focusing on some of the things that... Well my PCP wants me to build a list of the 100 things that will be positive after the surgery and weight loss... - less medicine - being able to get on the floorto play with the grandkids - being able to get back up. - being able to buy pants in every store, not just a few.
  4. Gee that is so true. As supportive as my family is, they don;t really know what it is like. so THANKS to all. Steve
  5. Roe roe, Yeah you did, but let's just there are others in the same area, and we understand!

  8. Roe roe, the environment at the support group I went to was much different. About half their has band. Got good realistic mostly positive feedback. Also, my insurance, Aetne, required attendance before approval. Stv
  9. I want to second what one of you said. Much of the negative comments are coming from people not following hrough on what we are all being told. This is a tool, not a magic trick. It will be hard but better than what I have done done w hitch would NOT lead to a long enough life or one as happy s it can be. Welcome Liz. My date is one day father yours, the 14th. Steve
  10. Welcome Peg. We can all be anxious together. Steve
  11. Well,we are adding to the December binders! Busy holiday season this year. Thanksgiving, Christmas, Birthdays (roe roe 11/17, me 11/29). But the big celebration will be starting a NEW year on he way to healthier us. Steve
  12. Donna, like you I find myself second-guessing myself. I have, however seen many good and useful posts. Maybe if we keep the discussion going we will gt some input. My surgery is sched'd for 12/14. I meet with the surgeon in mid-November . Steve
  13. That is a great question. My surgeon's staff also leaves choice up to me. What differences have people seen that helped decision? Marketing information is no help. Steve
  14. From what I hear here, yes they are similar but different. Every session has been worthwhile. Stve
  15. I think the answer depends on you, your doctor and your insurance. I worked with my PCP for six months for the documentation my insurance (aetna) needed. That was one of the "checklist" of things I needed. Psych, sleep study, support group mtg, seminar, dietitian, once that checklist was completed Aetna approved and surgery scheduled. there has been no second diet, though we are always on diets, right? Of course I have I have my prep diet in front of me. Surgery 12/14. Steve
  16. My date is 12/14! While I won't overeat at thanksgiving, I am glad my birthday (11/20) and t'giing come before liquid diet. Put those temptations to next year when better positioned to deal with them.
  17. I was approved this week! (Aetna). Approval in one week after all check boxes checked (6 months, psych, dietitian, sleep study, etc. Etc) No to get surgery date this week. Excited, scared, anxious.
