  10. Well, I got me an NSV :clap2: that I've been working for 3 years to get up to and that is this. Today, I took myself outside and planned on just mowing a bit of my yard. Well, I wound up spending 4 hrs out there solid getting it! :whoo: :whoo: :whoo: I mowed my entire yard all by myself! I didn't have to quit and rest and I didn't ever feel faint or heck, I don't think I even really broke a sweat! I AM SO PROUD OF MYSELF! Remember, I"m a girl, but not only am I a girl. I am a girl who has nearly died from a pulmonary embolism:faint: . I'm also a girl who has spent the last 3 years working up from 10 minutes on a treadmill and hurting so bad I thought I might not make it out of a mall because my feet and legs were killing me. :help: This day has been probably the most amazing I've had since being banded. I am alive, but more than that, I AM ALIVE!!!! And for this, I owe all the glory to God who strengthens me and who has seen fit to restore my health for His purpose. Amen!!
  11. 90% (Dixie). Did you have any Confederate ancestors? GOD Bless Texas!! Amen, Glory Hallelujah!! Texas til I die!
  12. Had a great time! For those of you who need a buddy to do something now and again, I'm available!! Thanks everyone for showing up and sharing your stories!!
  13. Had it today. No problem.
  14. I'm not sure I had any symptoms, but I do know I was over-filled when I actually began having symptoms. Which came first.. I'm not sure. According to my films, one doc said I had a slippage BEFORE the fill that was too tight.
  15. So sorry to hear of your slip. It's hard to pin down 'why' these things happen, as in life - some things just are what they are. You deal with it and move on. I sincerely wish you a quick recovery and hope your new band is your best friend for years to come.. Hugs..
  16. It's omnipaque, but I can't say why they choose this over saline, unless there is less dissapation?
  17. Dats me.. Aphrodite.. too bad there's no man to enjoy it with..
  18. Never heard the plum/walnut limitations.. I've been rebanded - no problem really, but the second band has never felt like the first and I've mostly maintained, not really lost since. Of course this is all my own experience. I've never had the same overt 'stop' signs with the second banding and had more esophageal issues. Would I do it again?? YES
  19. is there a link?? or am i really just losing it??
  20. http://bigolalaskan.com/lapband/fills.htm Go to this link and answer the questions. Maybe this will help!
  21. The gas in your bowel and the gas in your shoulder are two totally different things. The referred shoulder pain after surgery is actually from the 'stretching' of the diaphragm during surgery - the gas referred to is actually C02 and dissappates within minutes of the surgery. The pain is from the actual stretching of the diaphragm (pull your t-shirt and see how the material doesn't immediately spring back). It takes days, maybe a few weeks for this stretching to heal, hence the referred shoulder pain. The gas-x will ONLY help the gas buildup in the bowel due to things eaten or drank. That's totally unrelated.
