    Acid refluex

I posted this another place, but want to say again, I have been banded since 2007 a couple of years ago I had re-flux so bad I was sleeping upright and it was still happening. The Prevecid the doctor prescribed was not working, I ended up having a small un-fill and that definitely helped. Since then I have not had any more fills, but I still do get re-flux a few times a week. I have found A MIRACLE cure/relief. Aloe Vera Juice at your local health food store is a miracle. I have been drinking 1/4 cup before bed for about 6 moths now and I never have reflux at night. Sometimes I will take it during the day if I feel a little burning and it relieves it right away. only 8 bucks for a big bottle at my local Fred Meyer health food section. It is worth t.

    May 2007 Banders

I have been banded since 3/2007 (i just realized its my anniversary I too was having severe re-flux I had to get an small un- fill a couple of years ago, and have not refilled since, however I was still having re-flux here and there. My doctor prescribed prevecid, but that stopped working. However I found A MIRACLE relief for my re-flux. Aloe Vera Juice. I read a newspaper advertisement on it once, and decided to check out the local health food place, and I am telling you it is a miracle. I do not take the previcid any more, and drink 1/4 cup of the Aloe Vera Juice before I go to bed, and sometimes in the morning. Definitely before bed it really works. Again I do not have to take my Previcid any more.

    8 Months OUt

I too am having a hard time loosing any weight. I was banded march 07 and have only lost about 10 lbs, at was 20 at first then I gained then had one fill. but now I am back to only 10 lbs lost. arrggghhh I am very frustrated, I am obviously eating too much. I will try and pay attention to the "lump felling" in my throat, I have been thinking food was just stuck when I felt that, not that I was full. I am getting another fill in a couple weeks, hopefully that will help me too.

    Trying to decide

well I was just banded on 3/22 and so far i have lost 17 lbs since the day I weight in at the hospital. But as for food right now i am on full liquid/some mushies. And let me tell you . My stomach definetly tells me when I am done with eating. Not PBing but I am just basically paying attention and realizing when its full. I am sure it will get tougher the longer I have the band because of slacking off. But so far so good. Good luck on your decision.

    Mexico Doctor

MY dh and I had surgery on 3/22 in Mexicalli Mexico with Dr Aceves. 8200$ included everything except airfare. HOtel one night and 2 nights stay at the hospital. Dr Aceves and his staff are very knowledgeable and nice. The doctor and his immediate staff speak very good english. only the middle of the night nurses had a hard time with english. My dh even had some complications due to diabetes and we stayed an extra week at n/c. While we were there the 8 rooms in the bariatric wing were full every day. Just look him up on the web.

    Weird Feelings

About ten years ago I had that same thing happen to me. (when I lost a bunch of weight) but I kept thinking I was fat still. I was the skinniest I had ever been as an adult 137lbs (which is too skinny for my frame) but I know I kept thinking I needed to loose a couple more pounds. Well needless to say.... ten years later and at 273lbs I sure hope I dont have those feelings again when the weight comes off. banded 3/22

Thanks for an answer on that. I guess not too many people must have had this problem. I guess its comforting to know at least one onther person besides my DH. One more week of this and full liquids.

    March 2007 Bandsters

Hello all, Its finally happend. I am now banded. My DH and I went to Mexaclli on March 21 and just got back March 29th. I have been feeling great since the second or third day. However my DH (which stands for everything) Had some reactions with his Diabetes, and throwing up too much from anasthesia. So they had to go back in and Carve more fat from around his stomach pouch to loosen the band. SO.... needles too say 8 days later. I am finally home and wil be able to sleap in a bed instead of a Recliner. yippy. Dr Aceves and his staff were GREAT though. Really helped through the whole ordeal. they fed me every day even though I wasnt really checked in the hospital. (but really how much can broth, jello, and apple juice be right). but it is the thought that counts. I would recomend Dr Aceves to any one wanting to go the Mexico route. Very good care, and very nice and caring man. SO here I am back at home and already trying to figure out how I can alter the broth to make it tast better.....Any suggestions on the liquid portion of the process?
  10. I schedueled my surgery around my period, and what happend last month..... My body decided to be exactly on week later.... so ya Thursday is my surgery and I should be starting any day... My Doctor said a tampon is ok .

    Banded Duos?

Hi there, stacy here. My husband and I are going to Mexicalli on March 22nd. I am really excited. The only thing I worry about is any little thing that happens my husband is going to look to me for the answer. Which will probably get on my nerves. So It will definetly be a journy together. lol. By the way what does DH stand for when talking about the husband?
  15. Man I didnt even think about people "monitoring" me afterwords. At first i said i would not be telling my mom, but I just couldnt hold it in. So here is something funny. I was talking on the cell phone to her and I said "mom, I got something to tell you....." pause pause pause. She said ok. So then I said "John and I are going to get the lap band" and right after I said that my cell phone went dead.... hahahahaha oh man I laughed and laughed. So i called her back. And told her the rest about going to Mexico and stuff. she was kinda quite then said "well everyones doing it now". Any way so I finally did tell my mom and all is well. So 4 weeks left still and man Its taking toooo long to get here.

My doctor said since my bmi is over 40 then I should do it. To shrink my liver. He says usually your liver will swell when a person is over that bmi. Thats why my husband DOESNT have to go on a diet because his bmi is at 37 . and yes he is going in for lap band too. he is diabetic and a like 50-75 lbs over weight.

    March 2007 Bandsters

My Doctor told me to be on a low carb for one week before, but I am going to start at the beginning of March for a total of three weeks. I found it very interesting the whole reason why. My husband doesnt have to diet before though because his bmi is 37. So he better not be eating all that junk around me. lol:rolleyes:

You guys are so right. I keep reading everything I can. I am a self pay via a personal loan. My husband and I are going to DR Aceves in Mexico, So thats even more anxiety. It always helps to read about people with the same thoughts. I am going to do a low carb/fat diet as instructed by the doctor. I had lost 60 lbs on weight watchers/ last year then gained 15 back so thats when I decided uh oh. here goes the yo yo again. BMI 41 322/280/168
  19. I have decided not to tell my mom or dad because I dont want them to worry. People at work know, however I have not discussed it with everyone in my office. My husband is being banded too, and my sister and son know. Its been hard not telling my mom because I usually tell her everything. I am being banded in Mexico so at first I was hesitant about telling people that. But now I am ok. accept mom and dad.

    Any one in NW WA

I did hear about the bash, however we cannot afford to buy the tickets. Is there any guest lists I could possibly get on??? The doctor from Mexico that is speaking is the doctor I am going to. Thanks for the info.

So definetly I will post after that experience. Hers a question...What has the census been about protien shakes and extra vitamins. Is that a definate recommendation or just suggested by doctors?
