  1. Hi there, figured out how to join a group, just missed the button because I dove straight into the discussion thread. Anyway, my name is Julie, I'm in Boise ID and am in early pre-op, had my consult with Dr. valentine on 9/12 and my first of 3 supervised diet appts with his PA on 9/19. I am excited and nervous about this. I am not sure yet, actually, whether I will have RNY or sleeve. How and why did you choose sleeve over other options? What do you think of Dr. Valentine and/or your St. Lukes doc if you are in this area? Finally -- what is the st. lukes preop psych eval like? mine is in october. I'm not sure what to expect. Thanks!!!
  2. I am sorry to hear you are struggling. I would have to imagine they might be able to see the extra edema, I hope, and have a good discussion about it, particularly if your Water pill changed and not believe you just didn't do things right. I hope! keep with it, you've had a great loss I am impressed. What is the milk diet? Do you just mean liquid diet? Did they want you on it that soon? That seems it would be so hard to do it for six weeks pre-op. I am still learning as a newbie. I have a three month wait period and had my consult last week and my first medical diet supervision appt tomorrow that I guess will start the clock officially ticking for the three month period, so I have yet to laern what will be required of me.
  3. As hard as it may be, I'm actually hoping for this timing. My workplace requires everyone to be off from 12/23-1/1, so with just a couple of extra days off, I'll have a healthy 2 weeks off, with hopefully no disruption from work beyond that. I will be complete with my requirements about November 14th, and they said it will take a week to get approved, and then my surgeon is scheduling 2-3 weeks out, so I am PRAYING for that timing to work out. I am hoping for 12/21 or 12/22.
