  1. Can I have coffee 3rd week post op? I had surgery Nov 14th.
  2. Alright fellow sleevers I'm ready for you to chime in your thoughts below on my VSG story. November 7th I started my liquid diet at 198.6 pounds. On November 14th the day of my VSG I weighed in at 190.6 so I'd lost 8 pounds in 1 week!!! Wahoooo!!! Had the surgery that morning out in Dallas, TX. Came back home to ATL, GA on Friday morning. On the following Tuesday (the one right before Thanksgiving) on November 22nd, I weighed in. I was now down to 177.6. Great Job for me! 21 pounds exactly. But heres where it gets very discouraging. I HAVE NOT and I REPEAT HAVE NOT lost any more weight since that day November 22nd!!!!! Had my first Doctor Consult with my surgeon on Monday January 2nd and still weighed in at 177.6. He was not happy with my weightloss either. He said I should have lost way more than 13 pounds since the surgery. He told me to cut out the Protein shakes/smoothies and just do my 3 tiny small meals a day. I am now doing hard core cardio workouts which is a bootcamp class 3 days a week and hitting the gym to do an hour long class 2 other days. So I am getting in 5 days of damn good workouts. I am so sad b/c today was my day to weigh in and it said 178.6!!!! WTF is going on with my body? Why has it let me down and have me regretting even shelling out $15000 for this surgery???? I am so lost and confused b/c I'm getting my Water in, eating my small meals and averaging about 600-800 calories a day like he said. Any thoughts or suggestions????? Confused, Amber

    Working Outside In The Heat

I don't work out in the heat everyday all day but I would think as long as you drink your water and loads of it along with daily vitamins you will do fine. Plus all that sweating may up your weightless pace:) Good luck on your new beginning. It's the best thing I have ever done for myself:)
  5. Swimmer- I did have some luck increasing calories just for a minute though. My weight loss is still very slow and I'll be 9 mos out August 14th and have lost 40 lbs to this date. I have decided to up my exercise from 3-4 days a week to at least 5-6 days and incorporating running everyday in it. If this doesn't help pull my last 25 lbs off I don't know what would:( But I'm thankful for what I have lost I feel like a whole different person. I could have never done it on my own. How's your weightless coming along?
  6. Lost 8 lbs in pre-op diet and only 13 lbs since my surgery Nov.14th! I'm confused still! I've been at a stall since Thanksgiving and wondering why. I have added calories, increased water intake and do high intense cardio workouts 5 days a week!!!!!' HELP!
  7. Wow you really have me looking at it with a whole new view on it. When I had the surgery I only had 60 lbs total to loose and 21 lbs down I'm almost half way there in 2 months! If I loose another 21 lbs in two months I won't be far from my goal!!! Thanks so much for the insight!!!!!!

I Definitely Regret Surgery.... So Far!

Try Pedialyte! Way better than Gatorade and instantly cured my dehydration! Hope you get to feeling better!
  9. Debbie, Thanks for the advice. I have not thought of that but I will sure give it a try for the next week and we'll see what happens. I will let you know how it goes. Happy New Year.

    3 Weeks And No Weightloss

I am 5 weeks post op as of yesterday. I have not lost any weight in the last 3 weeks. Is this normal??????? I have only lost 17 pounds total-8 before surgery and 7 after. This just doesn't seem right is it?????????? What am I doing wrong???
  12. Ready to see the pounds flying off again!!!!

  13. Haven't lost any weight in 10 days nor have I lost inches!!! Whats up with that????

  14. I was sleeved 11/14/11 and I've lost a total 17 pounds (thats including the 8lbs I lost pre-op). I'm very discouraged! I hope its just that "3" week stall period:(
  15. Baby its cold outside!

  16. Did you use aritificial sweetners instead of sugar? I am so craving a cup of coffee w/french vanilla flavoring b/c its so cold here in GA. I only drink half a cup to a cup when I have one so its not a lot.
  17. I want some coffee!!!!

  18. Okay I should be getting my lap-band at the beginning of December. I am curious to all you lapbanders out there. Does this thing really make you not hungry all the time/feel full. I am hungry ALL the time! My fat butt just had a Chick-Fil-A sandwich, med fries, cup of fruit and a yogurt parfait!!!!!! An hour later I'm looking for my next bite!!! This can not be normal. But I've always been like that. NOTHING satisfies me EVER!!! From food, to anything else. One thing my doc has told me is you never are really hungry with this, so is this true??
  19. Good morning all Texans. I am from GA but joined this group b/c I'm hoping I can find someone who has used this practice TLC Edge out of Dallas. I was supposed to have Lapband surgery in ATL, GA tomorrow but at the last minute my financed loan crumbled and left me to try and come up with $5000 at the last minute, so I had to cancel. I have been researching VSG for several weeks now wondering if I should take that road instead of the Lapband (mainly b/c of maintenance issues and a foreign object being in my body). I started reasearching VSG doctors and stumbled across this practice. They offer the VSG for $9,990.00 right now. Everything included. I asked why it was so reasonable/cheaper than others and the guy said b/c the have so much competition out there. Would anyone suggest this place or have an experience to share? I want to hear the good bad and ugly!!! I don't want anything sugarcoated if they have a story to share:) Thanks, In need of advice amber

    Low BMI

I currently weigh 194 and have a 34 BMI. I am getting mixed reviews from a lot of people b/c I am turning to LapBand to change my lifestyle b/c I can't do it on my own....but at the same time no one bothers to tell me I'm not a big girl either....go figure:( Just curious if anyone one here had a lower end BMI with only about 50-65lbs total to loose? Also, my doc says we have to loose a little bit of weight before the surgery but what if I fall below the required BMI? I'm gonna be cash pay so I was wondering if this will still apply???? If you have had the surgery at a lower BMI how has your success been? How much did you loose at first? I'd love all the feedback I could get. Kind Regards, Lost and Confused
