  1. Thanks for the support all. Just feels weird because I am certainly eating 75% less than normal but do not feel like the band is doing anything eventhought he doctor says that is why I am eatings so much less. I am looking forward to my first fill I guess to reassure me even though the doctor did to that everthing is working properly. I have gone from excited to grateful to scracred to nervous to sad to contentment 10 times each in no order during this ordeal. I am sure it is all worth it in the end.
  2. I was banded 9/14. I eat plenty of Protein each day, at least 70 grams. I have had three meltdowns where I ate Desserts and did not really pay the price. They werre meltdowns because there were uncontrolled due to anger, or emotions etc. I havenot been drinking enough Water and woried that my carb intake is two high. Anyone else like this of can give me some suggestions. I seem to be losing weight but I want to do it the right way. Eating things like tuna, Protein shakes, soft cheese but to much sugar and carbs with faina and or desserts. Kind of venting so thanks for listening. Any words of encouragement are greatly appreciated.
  3. I agree with everything. I try not to tach tv, look at a magazine or look at a billboard until my first fill. BTW, non fat greek yogurt with splenda is something I like
  4. I ordered some new protein mix which can not get hear fast enough. I tried food since I felt no surgurcal pain and it went down fine. I can drink all the water I want and feel no pain. Just going to go back to liquids and ask my doctor for a direction
  5. I have no problems with the Protein shakes. I had about 90 grams of protein today. This honeymoon ending thing concerns me. Will these issues calm down after my first fill? If so, I will at least have a goal date to make it to.
  6. Jason, Keep your chin up. I am almost two weeks post op and know you have found a good place here. Do not feel ashamed at all. I have been there...I am still there.
  7. All I can say is that you are not alone. I am feeling the same way and have no idea what to do.
  8. I was banded on the 14th and had my first followup after one week ad was doing fine. After 10 days post op, I could not handle only liquids any more so I had 2 oz of tuna just like they said I should do as I transition to semi soft foods. No issues at all. Not full or even satisifed at all. The next morning I had hard boiled eggs then mid day a piece of toast and dinner 2 hambergers with no bread. I had 2 Protein shakes and plenty of Water throughout the day. I ate everything slowly, did not drink during meals and I am scared that I am going down a path I do not want to be on. I am hungry and should not be. I am not due for my first fill for another month. Why was the transition so easy? I am getting cravings that I do not want to feel especially if I have no restriction. Any thoughts?
  9. Thanks for the support. I think I am going to try to sleep and see how the day looks tomorrow. RIght now I am very down.
  10. All of the research, classes, appointments preop questions are all behind me. Now I feel sad and lost. Any thoughts?
  11. Well I did it and got home this morning. I feel lost. Moving plenty so gas is slowly disappearing. I am not interested in eating anything. I had a protein drink this afternoon and will have another one tonight. I had soup and an ice this morning at the hospital so I guess looking back, I did ok on my first day of liquids after. Can believe that that part is all over. The research, classes, tests surgery all done. Now I try to sleep and see how I feel tomorrow.
  12. I had the band put in yesterday and am home today. Was walking right away and feel some pain and have lttle desire to eat. I was so focued on my liquids before that I think it help be recover faster than any of the 4 other patients who went in the same day. My doctor told me (after the surgery) that people sometimes second guess themselves and want it removed right away but that passes. I hope sp because I can not believe all of the reserach is done, the surgery is done and I feel lost. Thanks for being there because people like you guys make it that much easier.
  13. Chelle: I have been very focused on the week or liquids and after the first day was ok. I am not worried about loosing weight right after surgery just my sanity. Mindy: How much did you eat?
  14. Thank you very much. I am happy to have support from people who went through it. How were the frist few weeks after your surgury?
  15. Great to hear. I am having the band put in tomorrow and you are overcomming one of my biggest fears. Certainly makes me feel better that I can do it. Thanks for the motovation.
