Not Losing On Scale But Clothing Much Bigger....can I Be Losing?
First congratulations to everyone who is exercising and losing inches, it takes so much will power for me! I am not exercising like I should be, but I am also seeing my clothes fitting different even though the scale has not moved much in the last week. My pants are getting baggy, but I have not lost anymore weight.

ladies
Yes, the boobs definitely get smaller. I am two months out and you can already tell, in fact they were one of the first things to go. I usually lose weight on my face and then around my lower section like legs and butt. With this surgery I lost in my face first and all in my upper section.

5 Days out and starting to feel better, but...
Which Protein shake are you drinking? I like the EAS AdvantEDGE Carb Control chocolate Fudge, but I do not know anyone else who likes them. (My husband says they taste disgusting, maybe I am just used to drinking them). I went back to work on day 5, and I did not have a hernia surgery, but I was still sore especially getting up and down from my desk. Walking around was easy, but getting out of my chair and sitting in my chair all day was agony. Every day it would get a little better, I hope this helps.

2nd fill and a lot of restrications
That is good that you have restriction, at 6 cc's (my 1st fill) I could eat any food after a week or two. I just got filled to 7 cc's (2nd fill) and I can definitely tell the difference. I can understand not telling everyone about the band, because they think it is like gastric bypass and that you should be losing like crazy. But, for some reason, every time someone comments my weight loss, I just blurt out I had lapband surgery. It is weird, I thought I would want to keep it to myself more but people's reactions have been pretty open after I tell them. I also make sure to tell them that the band is a tool, and that I should only lose 1 to 2 pounds a week with it. Good luck on your journey, and I hope it gets better after you have your 2 days of liquids and mushies.

I don't feel I look the way people say I do...
I say keep losing until YOU are happy, that is what counts. About 10 years ago I went on weight watchers and in total lost about 30 pounds (at that time, that was all I needed to lose)...once I had gotten down 15 pounds people told me I didn't need to lose weight, and why was I dieting? I told them because I am trying to get to my goal weight. You have to get to where you can be happy, all the people in the world can tell you how wonderful you look and how skinny you are, but until you reach your goal...I say keep going! BTW congratulations! Side Note-Dieting is a way of life, 10 years later and I found myself 113 pounds heavier than I was at my "goal weight." This time I will get it off, and keep it off.

How many incisions did you have?
I have 4. 1 large 1 inch incision where my port is off to the left of my stomach a few inches from belly button. I have 3 incisions across my upper abdomen, those are all pretty small. I have been using mederma, and the nurse said they looked really good, we will see with a few more months out.

Fill until you feel R-E-S-T-R-I-C-T-I-O-N
Exercising helps with the neck pain (shoulder pain for me). I walked a lot the first few weeks, and actually first day I got the surgery. I was so afraid I was going to get a clot, I didn't want to sit still. I don't remember having the shoulder pain after the first week. The first day and second day were the only days that really bothered me with shoulder pain. I went back to work on day 5. Every day it gets a little better. The first 3 days I wasnt really hungry, but I believe day 4 was when it really kicked in. sugar free popsicles were my best friend.

Fill until you feel R-E-S-T-R-I-C-T-I-O-N
Thanks Win, I had my fill under fluro and she told me I would not be able to even chug water anymore and I felt restriction for a week and now I feel pretty open. I just want to see onederland, I got down to 203 but now up to 206, I was 207 at last fill, I'm feeling frustrated.

Fill until you feel R-E-S-T-R-I-C-T-I-O-N
I have only had one fill, and I was filled from 3.8 cc's to 5 cc's in a 10 cc band. I have no real restricition right now, but I felt like I did when I first got the fill. Wondering if it was all in my head...or is it possible I stretched my band? I haven't lost anymore weight since then, and I have another fill scheduled for next week. Feeling frustrated, but it has barely been 2 months since my surgery. I was banded on August 25th.

What is a normal day of eating like for you?
This made me realize I am so not eating the right things, in fact it is hard for me to even reach 1200 calories on a normal day! It is actually hard to make myself eat within the first 3 hours of getting out of bed. I am doing 2 meals a day. Thanks for the postings it gave me some ideas I can try!

Nervous...Slipping back into bad HABITS!!
Victoria, that was great advice...at least for me. That sounds like me completely, and I am also 31. I have been on weight watchers a few too many times, and lost weight only to feel deprived and gain it back plus more. You have given me new hope!

Congrats, that is awesome! I have a question, I just got my first fill yesterday and it was done under fluro and I am up to 6 cc in 10 cc band. I am nervous about my first food, I really don't want to get sick. I haven't had any trouble eating since I got banded, but PA said I would now. I start solids tomorrow afternoon. Maybe a lean cuisine meal, or go straight to chicken?- Stress
Thanks vlp, true about having more time to exercise. Onmyway I will find you on fitnesspal, just have to figure out how to do that. Thank you both for words of encouragement, on the plus side I went in for fill today and they changed me to cash pay and offered me the fluro for no extra cost...takes all the guessing away when doing the fill!- Stress
Thank you both, for your words of encouragement. It is just hard. I will need to work on me, during all this me time!- Stress
I was just "let go" on Friday from my job, and I am 1 month and 2 days post op. I am down from 229 to 207 this morning. I was all the way down to 203, I am stress eating. I am not eating close to the amount I was eating before, but they aren't good choices. I want to exercise but I am so stressed. I need support, or a workout buddy. Now I am worrying about how I will pay for fills...lost my insurance too. Any advice? Anyone want to become motivation buddies?- I can see how this stage can very discouraging
Ms. Lady, thanks, I think I am going to try some chicken tomorrow.- I can see how this stage can very discouraging
I am on week 3 and I am unable to eat anything close to what I was eating before. I actually know what it is like to feel satisfied (FINALLY) I don't eat until I am full anymore. I know my weight loss has slowed down, but I feel good. On ideas of things to eat, I like the Hungry Jack instant potatoes and I add fat free sour cream, and just a tiny bit of fat free cheddar cheese...it is so yummy! For real food, I haven't really had a real meal (I did have a 1/4 cup serving of mac and cheese and didn't eat it all). I guess I am a little afraid to try regular food. Has anyone at this stage eaten chicken? Any problems getting it down without Water? LJM stick in there, I am told it will all be worth it after the first fill! I walk 30 minutes a day during the weekdays with some girls at work, this probably isn't hurting. Are you doing any exercise?- Post Op port pain
That sounds kinda like what I'm feeling, except it is more uncomfortable sitting up. I feel like it is almost a burning sensation. I was thinking I needed to call my Dr. but after reading this I guess I am ok. BUT how long will it be this uncomfortable sitting in the upright position?- What is slimming? PB...etc.
Thanks all, that was very helpful and a little scary I must add. - The Very Scary Halloween Challenge
