    Protein Shakes

BSN Lean Dessert protein power amazing! But, they don't come in fruity flavours. They do have banana cream pie, chocolate coconut, chocolate fudge and vanilla. Also Banana nut bread - which I haven't tried yet, and cinnamon roll - I don't like cinnamon so I wasn't a fan of that one. You can order it from bodybuilding.com for under $20 a tub

    September Bandsters

I started my pre op diet last Tuesday (23rd), have my pre op appointment on the 2nd and surgery on the 6th. Super excited!!! I want to have made a big weight difference by the time my husband gets home from his deployment in Iraq.

    Pre Op DIet

I've been keeping to under 1,200 calories. A Protein shake for breakfast, and for lunch and then a light dinner under 500 calories of lean meat or fish and veggies. 2-3 Snacks a day, each under 100 calories. My general day consists of snacks such a a sugar free Jello cup (10 calories) , fat free cottage cheese with sugar free jelly (90 calories) and my favorite, a bag of edamame (90 calories). I found these in the freezer section of Walmart. A box contains 5 or 6 individual steam bags which makes it convenient to take to work. I've found that you can't skimp on the Protein powder that you use. Your run of the mill Protein powder from Walmart tastes terrible and makes it hard to enjoy. BSL Lean Dessert protein powder is AMAZING!! I look forward to my shake every morning, they have flavors such as chocolate coconut candy bar, banana cream pie, vanilla and chocolate fudge. I haven't tried the banana nut bread, and I wasn't much of a fan of the cinnamon roll because I don't like cinnamon. Hope this helps!!

    Pre Op DIet

I just stated my pre op diet last Tuesday (5 days ago) and I've been very strict and have been writing down everything that I eat to ensure that I keep under my 1200 calories. I do the protein shakes for breakfast and lunch and then my low calorie meal for dinner with 2-3 small snacks such as a 10 calorie sugar free jello cup, and as to date, I have yet to loose any weight. I average around 1010 calories a day. I'm concerned that because I haven't lost anything, the pre op diet isn't doing what it's designed to do and I could be re-rejected come surgery day. Maybe I'm expecting results too quickly?? Has anyone else experienced this? When did you start to see results? My surgery is scheduled for September 6th.

    Pre Op DIet

I'm actually on my feet all day due to my job - so I'm very active, with lots of walking. Plus side, after posting this question, I stepped on the scales this morning and had lost a few pounds so I'm feeling a little better about the whole thing. Thank you for your feedback :-)
