  1. Hey guys Thanks for the feedback. I don't know really. For myself i tried eating a serving of jello really fast (4oz) and the only thing i got was pressure and a feeling like allot of gas is being misplaced and then burping with a tiny bit of gas pain. I don't feel as hungry anymore but i still have the occasional head hunger craving for a good steak. But honestly im worried i wont feel full and can just keep eating like before. I don't drink when i eat anyway so ill just have to wait and see in a few weeks time when im back to solids. I have my next appointment tomorrow to get the stitches out so ill ask my doctor as well
  2. Hey guys I was just wondering if u guys knew any good ones?
  3. Well its funny cause i know im knew at this but it feels like i didnt even get a sleeve. I mean i know it depends on allot of things (size of sleeve , length of stomach) but u would think that after drinking a yoghurt drink quite quickly (5 mins) i would hit that "uckh i need to stop now " feeling that i use to get pre op , if i ate too much but all i get is a feeling of bloating and burping. I read about other people who are having problems with a little water or protein drinks but i actually wish i felt that way. I also read about peoples choice of foods and there tastes changing because of that feeling and i wish i felt it so i could make those concious decisions too cause head hunger is really messing with me
  4. Hey guys n gals Im just wondering what it feels like to be full on the sleeve since im still in the liquids stage and ive never got that feeling of full yet. I mean the most ive got on soup was a lil bit of a sore stomach then alot of gas burps and a feeling like the food or liquid is pushing out gas. So please share your experiences i would like to know thanks.
  5. Hey Sheila Just a point. Make sure your not drinking regular tea cause that will dehydrate you more. Try drinking some herbal teas.
  6. Hey Jill Yeah in my opinion it's the best course of action. I wish you well on your surgery journy and good luck
  7. Hey to be thin. But do you get these deep burps? I mean we've all burped before but ill get burps that feel like there coming from the very pit of the stomach like i was completely full of air prior to any ingestion of liquids.
  8. Hey guys n gals Im a week post op and i can drink a 400ml glass in about 10 - 15 mins . My doctor told me to sip slow and i was but it must not have been slow enough lool. The doc told me i should be able to drink about 250 ml in 30 mins but i can drink faster than that. The only thing is i burp allot doing that. I dunno if its the nerves or what but what do u guys think?
  9. Hey Metri Thanks for sharing I totally understand what you mean when you say you question everything now. In fact i think for me it was the whole questioning , even my own existence , that led me to the sleeve. Just hang in there Metri cause i think we are all creatures of habit , and when change hits us we tend to either go with it or it's a complete shock to our system and we feel like the world is crumbling down. Take it slow , and open about how you feel. By be open i mean to yourself. I wish you well on your journey and if you need any support im always here
  10. Hi Meg To me personally. I see the lap band as a temporary solution to a permanent problem. My uncle got the lap band for 6 years and had to have it removed and he's back at his original weight. I looked at the sleeve as a permanent aid to a healthy life. Wish you the best with what ever you chose.
  11. Hi Guys Im 27 years old 306 lbs and standing just above a hight of 5'9. From birth to about the age of 20 i was always pretty healthy maintaining my weight without ever noticing it sometimes a lil chubby other times healthy. When i started working and making my way i started to eat more and i stopped playing sports and moving around as much. Lo and behold my weight started shooting up really fast till i had really no control of it. I've always loved food. I am a self prescribed food addict and i love cooking and i would eat just about anything i liked till it hit the spot. The spot started becoming bigger and bigger if u know what i mean. I got married at 24 and that just made me start eating more. (eating out etc) I started having marital problems and that just honestly made it worse cause i spent a good 6 months getting healthy at the gym losing 34 lbs in that time and i had given up smoking also then it happened . My wife and i got separated and i fell into a downward spiral , i gave up the gym took back smoking and eating and i felt happy honest to God. It took me one month to regain what i had lost in the span of 6 months in only a month!! I stayed that way for monthsand justified it with the fact that life is crap and it's gonna end one day i might as well enjoy it while i can. After about 8 months of this i slowly started to come to. I didn't feel comfortable at work i felt like all the world was staring at me and judging how fat i am. Normal tasks were really tiring and i was out of breath all the time. I then decided it was time for a change. Funny enough that day one of my friends from work had just gotten the VSG done. So i went to visit him and saw how he was 3 days post op and i was astonished at how much he could move and he told me the pain was minimal. I started considering the possibility of WLS. I went to so many doctors and asked around and did the research and finally got a date for my op. I did my op on the 4/18/11 and went through nausea and i vomited black blood which was a first ECKH! and i felt no pain except for when they removed the drain. Its now been 6 days post op and im down a bunch and on a clear liquid diet for 2 weeks then mushies 2 weeks after that. I didn't really do a pre op diet cause i didnt have time (the only appointment available for another 3 months was 4 days from the consult) . Im feeling good except for the gas a lil hunger and when i breath deep i feel pain in the middle of my left rib cage , other than that im happy i did it and im looking forward to the future and a new life To all you sleevers out there i wish you a prosperous journey .
