    Loose SkIn!!!

Same problem here. I was banded in September 2011 and had some complications due to a liver biopsy that was done at the same time. I didn't want to eat or even look at food for the first month, thus losing a lot more weight than expected. I lost 38 pounds from Sept. 14th to Nov. 8th (today), but my arms are sagging, my thighs, and my belly. I don't want plastic surgery, but I don't know what to do with the extra skin. I'm 29 and everyone is trying to encourage me with saying, "you're still young", " you can't tell", and so on...
  4. Shopping and Sex! Shopping because I can fit into a size 12, as opposed to pre-surgery, where I couldn't fit my legs into a size 18. And sex because I just feel better about myself. I cannot wait for my man to come home
  5. Started pre-op diet August 17th, lost 22 lbs. Had procedure on September 14th, lost 38, total for 60lbs! The best decision ever.

    BEST tasting protein shake?

Otter Pops are these yummy Popsicles that come in different yummy flavors..haha. But it's awful because the after taste hits you like dry Protein hay. Right after surgery my doctor ordered Clear liquids for 4 days, so I was forced to drink Isopure. Every time I tried to drink it I would gag and gag. Eventually I mixed it in with sugar free drinks or G2 and it made it "ok".

    BEST tasting protein shake?

Definitely, absolutely, NOT Isopure, Zero Carb, 40g of protein. The initial taste brings familiarity of Otter Pops, the aftertaste, I cannot begin to describe how awful it is. As I'm typing, I'm gagging.
  8. Mine is a four week diet, currently on the 3rd week, which consists of broth,16oz of juice, 2 protein drinks, 3 servings of dairy (one serving of Greek yogurt), at least 64 ounces of water, 2 no sugar added Fudgesicles, sugar free Popsicles, and diet juices or drinks. It's pretty hard, but I've already lost 20lbs. My surgery is scheduled for September 14th.

    September Bandsters

Autumn, good luck with your pre-op diet, you're starting Thursday right? I've lost 15lbs since the 17th of August, hopefully another 10 before surgery. Keep me updated, good luck!
  10. I was just approved for the lap band earlier this month, my surgery is scheduled for September 14th, but I just started the pre-op diet on the 17th of August, for a total of four weeks! Anyone ever heard of this? I'm down 5lbs in 3 days. It was explained to me that the reason for the pre-op diet (not the reason for the length) is to shrink the liver and abdominal area and to show commitment to the program. But, on average I see 1-2 weeks, not 4! I am very motivated and excited, but I just wanted to know if anyone else has gone through this. I'm 5'6.5 and as of now I weigh 246 (starting was 251). Thanks for your input!

    September Bandsters

I'm new to this website but after 10 months of fighting with my insurance I finally got my date: September 14th! I just started my four week pre-op diet yesterday, has anyone ever heard of a four week pre-op diet? I've lost 2lbs already! But, it's going to be tough, liquids, protein shakes, jello, juice, Greek yogurt (that's about it!) It's been a tough two days
