  1. As I said in an earlier post, I was banded on Thurs, Sept 8. How do those of you that crush your pills take them? I'm thinking just mix it with a spoonful of applesauce? I can't believe I haven't put more thought into the logistics of it before now. Also, is it normal to not want anything but Water? Thanks! Alli
  2. Well, I've been home since this afternoon. I took my pain meds when the hubs got back and ended up falling asleep in the recliner. Now I feel like I've been hit by a bus! I am using an ice pack and getting up to walk as much as possible, but my whole body is so sore!
  3. I got banded yesterday. Thankfully, I'm not having a lot of gas pain, but the incisions are soooooo sore! I just got home a few minutes ago and am waiting for the hubs to get back from CVS with my scripts. I'm sure I'll be a lot more thrilled with my decision to get banded once I'm not in so much pain. 4. I agree. I think you're out of luck. Not all insurances cover everything. It sucks, but that's the way it is. Definitely try to get a plan that covers it during open enrollment.
  5. Correct. I met with the nutritionist once and then had 6 appointments with my regular dr for weigh-ins. It's not really 7 months though. You have to have 6 appointments, but one can be on the last day of the month and the other one the first of the next month. You just have to have weigh-ins in 6 consecutive months. At least, that's how it was explained to me. My current BMI is 47.1. I do have co-morbitites - hypertension and thyroid disease. Cigna has been really nice about answering any questions I've had.
  6. No date scheduled yet. I'll probably have something confirmed in the next day or two. I'm thinking sometime next month, but we'll see.
  7. I've been lurking and reading almost every single post for quite some time. I decided it was time to finally join the forums and start participating. I went to a seminar at the beginning of the year and had my initial consult on Feb 28, 2011. I have Cigna, so I had to do a 6 month supervised diet. I had my last weigh-in on Monday, Aug 15. Today, Wednesday, Aug 17, I called the insurance company to see if the surgeon's office had submitted the paperwork. The girl I talked to said that not only had it been submitted, but I was approved! Woohoo! Now it's all becoming real and I'm terrified and excited all at the same time. It's great to be here! Alli
