I always considered having weight loss surgery the easy way out.  I'm finding out that isn't true.

I hit "bottom" in June 2011.  My weight had reached 320....and I had always promised myself I would never hit 300.  My knees finally couldn't take the added weight and I ended up having to sell my home to a smaller one because I couldn't keep up with the bigger one.  I can barely do stairs and had to begin physical therapy for my knees.
I was in a viscious cycle....I was increasingly inactive because of my weight and my inactivity was causing  my weight to climb.
I found out the insurance requirements and fast tracked my 3 doctor visits ( 1 each month), lab work, x-rays, stress test, psych evaluation, etc.  I had the nuitrition class 8/8/11 and am now waiting for the insurance approval.  I am expecting my first grandchild in October and am so ready to lose weight so I can be around to play with her.
I've been practicing not drinking with meals (boy, is that difficult) and learning what 1/2 c of food looks like.  I've managed to learn to take smaller bites and to chew thoroughly.  I am beginning to eat/drink the Carnation Instant breakfasts, sugar free jellos and puddings, and creamed soups for after surgery.  My worst fear is getting food stuck in the opening.
