  1. Yeah, the draining has slowed down in the past few days. The doctor said it would and it has. My swelling has gone down quite a bit. The surgery was at least as painful as the original lab band surgery, but not more painful. I was embarrassed earlier in the week due to leaking through my clothing...oh well
  2. Thanks go the advice. I did use ice packs to help with the swelling. Ibuprofen helped as well. I did have some leaking that started yesterday. Did that happen to anyone?
  3. My port had to be resewn in
  4. I had my port revised four days ago. My abdomen is really swollen and sore. Is this normal. Is so what did you do outside if the normal to dull the pain.
  5. Yes. When are first banded you will discover that you can almost function like normal. However once you start getting the fills what you will be able to eat will change. Also, when you think you are hungry ask yourself is your body hungry or do you just think you need to eat....there is a big difference
  6. Have you been walking? That actually helped me a lot
  7. The nurse did not do anything yet, she told me to come back in a week to see if it flipped back over
  8. I meant to say that the port flipped. It wa sthe reult if the bars hitting me. I am in a lot of discomfort. For any of you that it has happens to how did you cope with this.
  9. I went to an amusement park last week and road a fe roller coasters. The protection bars hit my stomach and I felt really dizzy. I have to say I have never been dizzy on a ride before my band. Anyway later that day I was in a lot of pain. I got up and ran the next day only to be in pain once I finished the run. I could not stand up later in the day. On monday I was seen by my surgeons office and they did an x-ray and told me that my port had flipped over. Has this happened to anyone here? If so what did you do. Specifically did your band flip back over? If so how did it happen. Thanks
  10. I had my second fill last Monday. I noticed everything got tight immediately. It has not gotten better in the past week. I hbae trouble with soft foods and have been throwing up repeatedly. It is hard for me to swallow anything. Though hot liquids are easier. I had 1.5 put in last time. What should I do? Request an unfill???
  11. Hello Everyone, I got banded in august and I have had one fill since then. I am slowly losing weight at about 10 pounds a month. Is that a healthy rate? I was just concerned that if I get additional fills that I will have extreme weight loss that lead to flappy skin everywhere. What have others experienced regarding this?
  12. I had a really hard 24 hours. I am about 6 out from banding and things were going fine, but now I am having trouble with certain foods. I threw up a slice of pizza and some honey roasted peanuts. I am also having trouble with chicken. I am really getting discouraged and am quite paranoid in terms of what I can eat. There are some days that I wonder if I made the right decision.
  13. I did talk to him and he said it can take up to 4 weeks
  14. Hey everyone, I am almost there weeks out from surgery and I am still having issues with my belly button oozing. When did it stop for all of you?
  15. So I thought I was doing okay with everything and exuded to eat some chinese food. The chicken was cut small and I though I would be able to eat it with no problem. Boy was I wrong. It got stuck in my throat and when I drank a bit it went down more. That was fine but I snacked on the food 2 hrs later and I was surprised that when I threw it all up. I was not sure if I was full or if it was due to the food being stuck in my throat. Whatever the case it really freaked me out. Has anyone else had this experience?

  20. I just met with the nurse today and she mentioned that once I lose weight my belly will be hanging. She said that, If it does not stretch back I may need to get a tummy tuck. Wtf. I was not expecting that at all. Have any of you considered it?
