    Strike 1

I have Anthem BCBS, so that is not true, they do pay for it. I just submitted it to my insurance company through work and was approved. Of course I had to join a program with my surgeon which was $300 out of pocket, it did take about 4 months for everything. It was submitted to my insurance company and approved in 2 weeks and it was deemed medically necessary. I would try again also a lot of surgeons have a care credit you can apply for and get approved to self pay that way. Best of luck to you!

    Pre-op liquid ideas

I'm able to have lowfat cream soups (strained), skim milk with mixins such as Carnation instant breakfast, sugar free of course. I have also gone to GNC and they have Isopure protein drinks that aren't bad & have 40g protein in them, I also have blenderized cottage cheese & done yogurt without fruit pieces.

    Surgery Day Check List

Good idea! My surgery is Wednesday. I'm going to take toothbrush, toothpaste. hair brush, hair band, change of clothes and I'm currently getting the house ready for when I come back. I'm getting all of my food in order, I bought a water bottle that has the ounces marked on the outside, a tiny strainer (perfect size for soup), baby spoons, any foods I can make in advance ie: high protein jello is going to happen Tuesday night. Oh and I don't know about you guys but my hospital is making me wipe down with antiseptic wipes before surgery and suggested I don't shave the night before due to potentially getting a rash. Don't forget to shave it could be a while before you can do it lol
  5. I'm doing something similar, I am being banded Aug 17 and returning to school on August 22. Honestly, I think it should be ok. My only concern is my pants potentially rubbing at the incision site? I had my gabladder removed in April and that was a problem then. Best of luck to you!
  6. Hello all! I am scheduled for surgery on 8/17/11 and am looking for someone who has gone through this already who can be either a workout partner or someone to listen & share experiences. I'm a 27 yr old woman, looking to lose about 140-150lbs with the band! Thanks! Amanda

    August 2011 Bandsters????

I'm getting mine done in Florence, KY on the 17th. I start my liquid diet on Sunday. I just went out and bought all of my stuff, I still need to get protein powder, I think I'm going to try Isopure, I have to get 75gr of protein each day. I feel like the liquid diet is going to be the hardest part lol
