I'm fat and want to lose wieight.  I suffer from very severe sleep aponea which is being managed by a CPAP machine.  I also have a conition known as Adult Onset Stills Disease(AOSD) which is an autoimune arthritic that condition gets you roughly every 8-10 years.  First time it went undiagnosed and I spent two months in hospital nearly dying a few times from heart failure and organ failure after that.  Next thing that was clearly looming unless I did something was Diabetes and after my second bout of AOSD last November I put on 52 pounds in 3 months because the treatment is steroids.

I needed this surgey for health reasons but two things pushed the decision over the line:
- the birth of our first child
- getting rejected for life insurance
