  1. Well I made it through the surgery and my first week! I haven't felt too bad at all. Been walking outside. Been meeting my Fluid and Protein requirements, barely some days. I have follow up with doc tomorrow! Here is my question: What should I expect pain wise? I am still having a lot of shoulder pain and occasional left upper quadrant pain. Is this pretty normal? How long does this diarrhea last!? Thanks!
  2. Kate, I know what you are going through! I have 3 sisters who are all small and pretty. Only one who was overweight. Not everyone understands the decision and I accepted it. When someone is negative I would explain the Surgery and why I want it...I also include all the things I have done to lose weight. After that, they are more understanding. if not, oh well. You are making this decision for you and you alone and you shOuld be proud. I didnt have to do the liquid diet preop but am in my first week of postop liquids. you will do great and know that not everyone will support you and that's okay. Wrap yourself in those you are supportive. Best of luck!
  3. Wow! That is awesome!  Keep it up! I am almost 1 week out and go to doc on Wednesday. Hope to see some results!
  4. Oops. Accidentally Posted too soon......then I realized that the beginning of our journey is te hardest. It is a temporary until we are advance to our regular food. Before surgery I sat down to make a list of all of the reasons i hate being fat and wanted to lose weight. When i doubt my decision I read the list. I know I made the right decision and you did too. We were all sleeved near the same date so let's support each other! Good luck! 
  5. Hello! It is reassuring to read your thoughts! I was sleeved on the 30th and have had many of the same feelings! On day 5, yesterday, it was the first time I was hungry and I thought "what did i do? This is forever." But then I realized that the beginning
  6. I completey understand. I was done on the 30th and today was day 5. Today was the first day I got out of the house and around other people which made me think...."wow, I really did this and I cant eat or drink what I want ever again" I started to feel hunger today which didny help. However, I got on here ad read other people's experiences. I think in it is normal to feel this way so we just have to hang in there! In my head I compare it to buying a new car. You are ecstatic when you leave the lot and the first few weeks. Then the newness wears off And you have this car with a payment that you are questioning. I'm going to way we will be feeling different in a few days! Good luck and hang in there!

  8. Welcome! Good luck with your journey.
  9. So i am post op 5 days today. I have started feeling hunger today for the first time. I'm on clear liquids until Wednesday. What has everyone else experienced? I almost want to try something like soup or something.
  10. Is having diarrhea immediately post op normal?
  11. I didnt have to do the preop diet. I just had my procedure on Tuesday and actually feel great! I can't believe how easy the recovery has been so far. You will do great....especially if you are motivated. You will do great! And I know a lot of people don't post but just read everyones experiences. I did for a few weeks before getting the courage to post. Good luck!
  12. Congrats! I like your last sentence.....I think about so many things besides food. What an amazing thing! Can't wait to get there. Just had sleeve done on Tuesday. I know it's early but i can't believe how I am never hungry.
  13. I can't imagine going through that! I just had my sleeve done on Tuesday. I didn't know what to expect as far as recovery but so far I can't believe how easy it has been! I haven't had any issues (knock on wood) and so far have felt no hunger. I know you are probably nervous but overall the recovery isn't bad. Good luck and keep us posted!
  14. My surgery was Tuesday and I day 3 postop today. I honestly expected to feel lousy but I don't! Ive been walking outside, no nausea, everything has went smoothly. Now, I just pray it continues to do such. Did anyone else feel this good 3 days after surgery? Can't believe it!
  15. Welcome! I just got my sleeve on Tuesday. I of course, had the jitters too but once I was actually at the hospital is when it left. I was prepared, educated, and ready. Jitters are normal! You will do great! Good luck!
  16. I am in week 1. I asked my doctor about it ans he said it is common. He said the stomach tissue Is swollen and a little traumatized so it is normal to have such pain in the beginning.

  18. I'm kind of curious about what to expect the first week? I know everyone is different but just curious about everyones first week.
  19. Mine too! It sucked. Just now starting to go away. I also had a hernia repaired so some of that pain is probably from that. Good luck with yours!
  20. Thanks! I am also in Illinois so that might be perfect!
  21. I should be going home today. Does anyone have a good website or store that they are cheaper than some places. J am feeling good and cannot believe that my journey has officially began! Woot woot!
  22. Had surgery yestersay at about 4pm. Feeling pretty good. Only thing is the gas pains.....yowser. The doc said I had an abnormally large stomach.....no wonder I was always hungry and never satisfied. Also had a large hernia repaired. Wow! I CAN NOT believe it is over!
  23. Surgery today at 1230. On the way to the hospital now. I am soooooo excited!
  24. Very true! I am not doing it for appearance....that is just a perk. My real reasons:improve my health (at 27 already have joint problems....and I want to be a mother some day), have more self-confidence and self-worth ( which should get me off of depression meds). Lots of reasons to do it.....smaller clothes is just the visible reward.
  25. You go girl!! Makes me even more excited to have mine done! Keep it up! I har mine on Tuesday!
