I took Chantix for 4mos.and smoked the whole time.The first few weeks I was still smoking my 2 packs a day.then i just started cutting back.I finally got down to 2paks a week.I had to be quit 3 mos. before surgery so i quit April 15th and done fine ever since.Surgery was Aug.16th i hardly think about smoking.You have to understand I LOVED SMOKING and been smoking for 25+years. I do credit the Chantix and knowing the doc wouldn't do my surgery unless I stop .So for its been well worth it. GOOD LUCK!!!!!!

Had WLS on Aug.16th doing GREAT. went yesterday for 1week post-op had lost 14lbs in one week.Started eating some real food yesterday which was heaven.

I went for my 1st week pos-op yesterday everything was great. The best is I had lost 14lbs in 1 week. I hope I can keep losing a few pounds every week.

what kind of liquid can u have? every doc is different

I had my surgery on the 16th also .Came home on Weds. nite.i had no problems with surgery and only discomfort and gas pains.On Friday i started having diarrhea. Its hard to tell if you have gas or do you need to go to the bathroom lol.But I feel GREAT!!!!

Hi my name is E.K. I have been in the weight loss struggle for most of my adult life. I have come to the conclusion that diets just don't work. I have considered having weight loss surgery for some time now, but the opportunity has only recently become available for me to have the surgery. I had to give up smoking and diet Dr. Peppers for the surgery so I must be serious about starting a healthier life style. In the end that's what its all about being health, living longer and getting to spend a lot of good quality time with your family and friends. There are so many things that I want to be able to do again that I haven't been able to do since I have gained so much weight. The thought of surgery is scary but I would have to say that I am really excited about losing the weight and a brighter, fuller and healthier future ahead. My current weight is 363 lbs. I will start my required Liquid diet August 2nd and will have my surgery August 16th.
