Still about 10 lbs from where I set out to be - but really I think I'm perfectly happy here :)

Has anyone felt like they aren't...
Hi all, Like most of you, I have times when I think "Why am I not losing more?" It doesn't help that my doctor wanted me to lose 30 to 45 lbs from my 1 month to my 3 month check up. Let's just say he will be disappointed. Here's the thing - I haven't been this weight since I was in my early 20's. I feel better, I follow my diet religiously (maybe too religiously), and I exercise at the gym 3-4 days a week with a trainer (not to mention all the walking I do at work). My whole life I ate when I felt bad, sad, angry, guilty, etc. I will not return to those patterns. So forget the doctor - this is my weight loss journey! So I tell myself to chill out - it's not a race, it's a journey! I will get there and so will you! So, stop pressuring yourselves - we all need to love ourselves and enjoy these changes. I don't know about you, but if I would have done this in the beginning, I wouldn't have had to have surgery in the first place. :cursing:

Day 7: My Protein Struggle
I was sleeved two 1/2 weeks ago and I have had problems with weakness. Much like others have mentioned I take naps in the afternoons, just like my gramps:glare:. When I mentioned this to my doctor he assured me that as I took more Protein in, with fish and then chicken in the upcoming weeks, I will start to feel better. He did not want me to eat anymore than three times a day, but I'm not getting enough protein in those three meal (the goal in 25-30 right now). So I ignored his advice and have been focusing on just getting the protein in, however I can, which has worked out to three meals and a snack (usually cheese or peanut butter). It worked yesterday and today. Like TX, Cali is getting hot and I have been going to the gym and walking on the treadmill for 30 mins. It really wipes me out and I come home and take a nap, but then I'm ready to go again. Thankfully I have four weeks off before returning to work. I'm really nervous as I walk a lot and am in the hot weather. Drink, drink, drink, I guess :lol0: Richelle

Post Op Clothing Dilemmas
I've now dropped a size . I did some much needed shopping at Kohls with the Memorial Day sales and a 15% coupon. I also got Kohl bucks to use in June and another 15% coupon in the mail. I figure I need 5 shirts for work and I can make two pairs of pants work. I imagine that it will get cheaper as I get smaller and have more sale racks to shop! Keep up the great work ladies!

4 days post op
As someone who is a couple days ahead of you - it gets better! I know everyone is different, but after 7 days I am not able to sleep on either side. My right side is the most sensitive, so I'm gingerly sleeping on that side. However, I've been able to sleep on my left side for the last two nights. I'm a stomach sleeper, so it'll be a while before I return to that position:lol0:!

Pigging out before surgery???
So I have just failed the 3rd day of my pre-op diet. I make it through the day, barely, and then I am starving and pig out. I tried throwing out all the food, but I convinced myself to eat anyway. Now I'm miserable and kicking myself. I know I still have 11 days til surgery to get my act in gear. My doctor wanted two full weeks of liquid, but I guess that's not happening. I so angry with myself right now. I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one, but how can I make it through this?! Richelle

My Stomach has 4 Days to Live
Love the title to this thread - it made me laugh! I just had my last unrestricted meal because I start my 2 week pre-op diet tomorrow. I'll be waiting to hear how you do. Although I'm sure you'll do great!!!

sleeve op 24th May....
Hi ladies, I am having my surgery on May 18th in California. My emotions have been a roller coaster. I have very supportive friends and family and that certainly helps. I also started blogging to help me make it through the process. The last week has been really difficult, stress at work has me falling back on food to cope - very, very bad. The funny thing is that I know it's wrong, but I do it anyway - very frustrating. I have to keep my weight steady or the surgery will be cancelled if I gain. So now I have to lose the 5 lbs I original lost and then gained again :biggrin2:. We will make it through this and the grass will be greener on the other side!

One year out!
I'm not quite at my goal, but I feel great and I have no regrets. My only regrets surround the amount of time I wasted not living life prior to my surgery.
