I have heard that Green Tea helps boost your metabolism and that's why its great for weight loss. It's suppose to burn fat. I used to drink it a lot before I had surgery. I can only say that it helped with curving my appetite & I love the taste. So get it in how ever you can.
  2. How do you eat chips??? I'm a day shy of 2 weeks post-op and want to know when were you able to eat chips and stuff like that..
  3. I wonder too. I had surgery last week Monday Aug 22nd and was told 4 weeks. But honestly I get tired just going up 3 flights of stairs at school (college).
  4. Congrats! I just got approved for my surgery, but I was a size 4 - 8 years ago and I still have the nice clothes I used to wear back then (like shorts and sun dresses from like BCBG & Banana Republic, ETC) in my attic. I'm look at them once in a while wishing I could fit in them. SICK I know. LOL. But I've been battling weight for so long I just thought I would be like this for ever. Again, congrats on your success and I hope to be in your shoes in less than a year.
  5. I've been APPROVED!!! I am soo happy. I'm hoping to have surgery AUGUST 1st. Is there anything I need to do before then? And what should I buy to have post-OP?
  6. I'm so happy to hear you were approved. My case was sent on Wednesday 7-13 and I called UHC on 7-14 and they confirmed they received all the paper work. I'm so nervous and scared. My BMI is only 37.7 with no major co-morbidities. So I'm hoping they look at my bad back history and approve me. If I don't get approved I will be soo depressed.
  7. I'm so nervous, anxious, scared & stressed that I will be denied. I have UHC Choice Plus & my insurance policy under my job covers WLS. Here's the deal -- I have no major comorbidities & my BMI is only 37.4. I don't suffer from high BP, cholestrol or diabetes. I do have sever lower back pain due to bulging disc & knee issues. I don't know if this is enough for them or would they deny me because I don't have what they are looking for. Please help me I'm desperate.
  8. I've been obsessing for the last month. I have half my pre-work done already (pysch-eval, pcp letter, paper work), I have an appointment with the surgeon today and then my case will be sent to the insurance. I still have to see the cardiologist and pulmonologist and get all my blood work done. I'm nervous about the insurance, and I am anxious about everything else. I've been looking in the mirror and just fantasizing about what I would look like 3 months after my surgey. SO NO YOU ARE NOT ALONE!
