  3. I know ) I had been able to get liquids down up until I could move on to mushy foods... Those mushy foods just messed me all up! I'm beginning to think my stomach/body is just overly sensitive and over reacts when i get fills. Thanks for your help everyone! I'm feeling much better today for sure!!
  4. I ended up calling the Dr and getting .5 cc's taken out (they had put 1.5 cc's in on Friday) I can now keep liquid down!! My Dr ended up cancelling my appointment but since I couldn't keep anything down - and I could feel myself getting dehydrated.... they got me in with another Dr. He said he thinks that since I got sick off of my 1st mushy food that I tried, it just caused everything to be inflamed..... (i.e. - my band is a drama queen! lol)
  5. Thanks! I'll give it another day or two. I'm trying to drink some hot tea now.... hopefully that will calm my band down! )
  6. I went last Friday for another fill.... I was fine getting liquids down the rest of the day Friday, Saturday and most of Sunday. Once I started with mushy foods, i feel like my band might be to tight... I've stopped mushy foods and went back to liquid to give my band a break but now i'm having issues keeping liquids down aswell. I'm not sure if everything is just tight from getting sick off of my mushy food, or if the band is actually just to tight (since issues didn't start until after i got sick off of the mushy foods, and i know that can cause things to swell.) Has this happened to anyone else? Should i get a slight unfill or just give my band some time to relax and see how things go? I'm getting some liquid in just not nearly as much as i could get in before. (and i'm trying to sip but i'm not sure if maybe i'm drinking to much at once)
  7. I'm sure you'll have no problem getting approved!!! Good luck, hope to hear some good news soon!
  8. For BCBS Federal, I had to do a 3 month supervised diet. I had already had documentation about having Sleep Apnea and that I was on blood pressure medicine. (Which i had been on for a while, more then 2 years.) I'm not sure what your circumstances are but, after my paperwork was submitted, I heard back within the week that I was approved. From what I understand BCBS Federal is actually pretty good at approving, and fast with responses. Good Luck!!
  9. Monday will be my first fill. (We'll i'm assuming I'll get a fill that day. This will be my first appointment other then my 2 week follow up.) I've read another thread that said he likes you to wait 3 months between fills. I'm REALLY hoping that that was a mistake or something and I won't have to wait that long. This staying at the same weight and/or gaining is so frustrating!
  10. Thanks!! Good luck to you too!! How long does your dr make you wait inbetween fills?
  11. I also had my surgery on 8 June!! I'm having the same issue! I've been stuck at the same weight and/or gaining. It is VERY frustrating and I completely feel your pain. Have you had a fill yet? I go Monday and I'm really hoping it helps.
  12. No, I haven't had any fills yet. I have an appointment on the 25th. I'm assuming I'll get a fill that day. I'm not sure if it will be a partial fill, like you're getting or what they'll do. I am ready for some restriction, and to see more weight come off!!
  13. Try adding cottage cheese to scrambled eggs, it keeps them really moist and adds protein!! They might go down easier.
  14. I was also banded on 8 June. I've basically stayed the same for a few weeks now. I go the the dr's again on the 25 and hopefully a fill will help. I am struggling with remembering that I am only supposed to eat until i'm satisfied, and I don't need to eat until i'm "fulll" Its hard work but hopefully is going to pay off in the end. I'm also struggling with portion sizes. When I grocery shop, I have to really try to stay away from things that don't come in prepackaged portions (like snaky things like quakes or anything like that to go with my lunch) because I know right now, i don't really feel like I have any restriction, and i don't trust that i'll count them out and not eat any more then what a portion size is.
  15. "I'm allowed to eat the same food as everyone else and I have a great medical team that suggest great food choices and all I need from my friends and family is to be a great support system but not monitors of what I eat." I plan on using this. Thank you! It's just very hard to feel like everyone is watching/judging me for any food choices that I make. Everyone is judged for being "overweight" anyway, and this just adds to my frustration. It's just very upsetting for me to constantly be scrutinized for what i'm putting on my plate. I told a select few (i.e. my boss, and 1 or 2 co-workers) about my surgery, and now it's around the entire office. It's very frustrating for me because I feel like this is a very personal thing that if I wanted to share, I could share, but the entire office didn't need to know.
  16. I've been having alot problems with people questioning me, saying things like "are you allowed to eat that?, "are you allowed to have that". I'm not eating anything that is unhealthy but I still get questioned about everything that goes into my mouth by family, co-workers, etc. It's to the point where, I feel guilty for eating anything or even having a half a cup of skim milk! I end up very upset when they question me. I am eating but because of this, I don't really like to eat around anyone else, I feel like I have to be secretive about what I'm putting into my mouth. Has anyone else had this problem?
