  3. HELLO!!! I saw October and even December Bansters but no November...so I thought I would start the November Bansters! I called the Insurance company and I got a verbal approval. If all goes well I will be banded on November 14, 2011. Woo-hoo!! 11/11 will be the beginning of a WONDERFUL NEW LIFE!! I can't wait to do this for ME!!
  4. Thank you Ladies!! I am so excited to see others that travel for a living and are banded. Let's keep in touch. I look forward to hearing how you are doing with the band on the road! I know I will bring or buy my protein shakes and ask for broth. I just can't wait to be banded! Counting down!
  5. Thank you so much for replying KatwomanTexas!! I am adding you as a friend because I think I may have more questions. I plan on taking my protein with me. Just wondered about lifting luggage and laptop at 2 weeks?
  6. Has anyone had to travel 2 weeks after having surgery? Many weeks Im on the road and I am gong to take 2 weeks off but will back on the road after that. Has anyone done it? Any advice? Should I take additional time off? UGH! Looking forward to being banded but not looking forward to being on the road so soon!!
  7. LOVE IT Thatchick and VanillaHoney!!! Ya'll made me smile! My ex and I broke up in January and he got married in July!!! I can honestly say I am doing this for ME!! I did so much for his tail and his kids but this is for me!! I can not wait for me to get my surgery date and drop this weight. I will post on FB that I lost 250 in foolishness and 100 lbs!! Thanks for the smile!!
  8. I faxed my final paperwork in yesterday!! YAY!! I'm so excited!! Although I have my own date in mind I can't wait to hear from them. Looks like I will be traveling on business when I start my pre-op liquid diet. That's going to be a challenge...say a prayer for me!
  9. I love this topic!! Here is my list: 1 - Cross my legs (properly) 2 - Wear a belt with a big buckle with a plain white t-shirt tucked in! 3 - Sit on an airplane and have enough room to put the tray table down and it not touch my thighs!! WOW!! Making this list sooooooo motivated me!!
  10. YAY!! Congrats! I'm still waiting on my PCP to write the recomendation letter. FRUSTRATED.COM!! I called and told them I would be coming up there if I didnt have it by Tuesday. Praying and keeping my fingers crossed.
  11. So, I just finished reading your post and all I can say is WOW!! My PCP warned me about doctors out there like this and I thought he was full of it and just trying to get me to go to one of his doctor friends. WOW!! Listen, this is a LIFE decision and there is a reason that you saw all of these RED flags prior to surgery. I just can not let myself think of all the things that could happen if you let them perform surgery on you. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE find you a Center of Excellence to go to. There is a reason they are recording and we dont want to know them!! TRUST YOUR INSTICTS!!
  12. I can't even finish reading your post...I had to stop reading so I could tell you to RUN!!! Not just RUN but RUN FAST!! Now...I will continue to read your post.
  13. Hi ReddirtRN! I'm using Dr. Smith as well. I don't have a surgery date just yet but waiting on pins and needles to hear from them. Let's keep in touch! I think Im going to attend a support session soon. Have you? EXCITED about our new life!!
  14. Can't wait to hear all about it!!
  15. Hi everyone! Okay...I've been lurking for months! The day I decided to have the surgery I found this site and I hate to admit it but I just might be OBSESSED with it. I am constantly checking it....I read everything. I wont be telling the psych that!! I am sooooo ready to do this! I am a bit concerned though...I just completed my 6 months with my PCP. He was going to fax my info to the surgeon. I have my nut and psych scheduled for next week. So...did I do it all? Did I do it correctly? Does this mean that once I have that appointment with the nut and psych I can submit to the Insurance company? I sure hope so!! I'm kinda excited if that the real answer. Thanks to all for posting your stories! You have no idea how you have helped me. I should have done this a long long long time ago!
  16. That's an easy decision! Take the sick days off...I mean isn't that what they are for?? If you are going to be more comfortable doing the surgery at a surgery center...take the time off. It's time you think of YOU!
