  1. shutuplena, Thank you for your response. It is very encouraging. I meet with my surgeon on 1/31 and will discuss then. Glad yours was so successful! Beckymit
  2. Thank you for answering me. I will just let my doctor be the judge of what to do. What a coincidence that you are a UF graduate. Go Gators!!! Beckymit
  3. During my pre-op testing they discovered I have gallstones. My surgeon is going to remove them while he is putting the lap band in place. Has anyone else had gallstones removed at the same time and, if so, did it increase your recovery time? I am scheduled to be banded 2/5/07. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!:help: Beckymit Gainesville, FL Dr. Hipp
  4. I had my pre-ops today and they discovered I have some gallstones. The doctor will remove them during the lap band surgery on 2/5/07. Has anyone else had gallstones removed and, if so, was the recovery period any longer? I would appreciate any input. Thanks! Beckymit Gainesville, FL Dr. Timothy Hipp
  5. I just joined the forum today. I am up here in Gainesville! I'm scheduled to have my lap band on 2/5/07 at No. Fl Regional Hosp by Dr. Timothy Hipp. It sounds like you are doing very well. I so enjoy reading all these threads. They are encouraging and I think I will need a lot of encouragement. I plan on going to all the support group meetings that are offered. It is nice talking to you. Beckymit
  6. I just joined the forum today. I am scheduled to have the lap band on 2/5/07. I was going to have it done last fall, but I, too, have Blue Cross Blue Shield and they were not covering the surgery last year. However, they are covering it beginning in 2007. I have Federal BCBS but I would think all BCBS policies would cover the lap band now. Please call your BCBS office to check again. Don't give up and good luck. Beckymit
  7. Julie, Thanks for the encouragement. I needed that. It is a scary proposition, but I know it is what I must do. I have tried all kinds of diets for the last 30 years and none have worked permanently. I am looking forward with trepidation to my lap banding and have asked for lots of prayers for what lies ahead. I am glad yours was so successful! Becky
  8. My user name is beckymit and I am new to this forum. I am scheduled for lap band surgery on 2/5/07 and would just like to hear from people who have gone through it so I can know what to expect. I'm not sure if I am posting this right or not or how I am supposed to do it.
