  1. I've been banded since 6/24. Initially, I felt full all the time--on day 4 or so, I even came close to throwing up after trying to drink a protein shake after drinking alot of water. A few days later, I started STARVING. I felt like I wanted to eat up everything. Instead of going with the hunger, I still just drank my shakes like I was supposed to, and had some jello here and there. Yesterday however, I ate half a bowl of cream of whea for lunch--and couldn't eat anymore. With my evening shake, the same thing happened. Today, I noticed that I could only drink about 5 oz. of a protein shake before feeling like I was gonna burst. I don't know what has happened, but I think my band is already doing what it's supposed to do, even without a fill. I get to start pureed foods on Friday, but I think I'm going to stick with my protein shakes for breakfast and lunch, and then just have something else for dinner.
  2. I'm 7 days post op, and when I went to my doctor on Wednesday, I asked him about this. He said that eventually I wouldn't feel the port and all, and the itching and bruising would definitely go away. I've lost a few of my steri-strips, and the incisions are pretty small.
  3. Wouldn't 200% overweight be more than double your weight? If your ideal weight is 150 and you're 100% overweight, I guess that would mean you're 300 lbs. (150+150). 200% overweight may actually be 450 (150+150+150). Math has never been my strong suit though, so I'm just guessing.
  4. I was banded on 6/24 too. I noticed that I've been starving for the past few days--I'm guessing since the swelling has gone down, the restriction that was there, is no longer there. I've been having my shakes for breakfast lunch and dinner, and just pushing through the hunger. I've also tried some V8 broccoli soup which helped a little, but not as much as the shakes. The jello works here and there--but water seems to keep the hunger at bay. The gas in your chest that you guys are experiencing, mine went away around day 5 or so. My pain is pretty much gone (I only feel anything really when I bend down or when I first get up), so the fact that I'm supposed to be on liquids for another week, really blows. If I'm able to go to the gym, I should be able to have more than liquids!!!
