  1. Finally got my gym membership and have started "working out"...have been able to do 15 min on the treadmill and 15 min on the bicycle plus some exercise machines for the arms and legs..to a whooping 45 min! I think I need to do more cardio though . Are any of you hitting the gym and if so what are you all doing? I'm at a total loss.
  2. Got my 2nd fill September 28th and am finally losing weight again! Hopefully I'll be in the green zone with this month's fill.
  3. I noticed a little more restriction but not much. I think I need more fill. I've gotten strict with my intake and am losing 1lb every day but I feel I'm still hungry. I'm on an 800 calorie intake and use the lapbandjouney.com to track my food intake and activity. I am not doing well on activity though its been way too hot to walk outside where I'm at..110 degrees yesterday! How are you doing??

  5. I got my first fill today after more than a month 1/2 since the operation .5cc. Is that amt too little?
  6. Hello Ladies! Its been quite sometime since I've been here. I've been reading the posts and am happy to see that everyone is chugging along. Shauna- don't worry it will all come together. I've actually have been having a bad time too. I recently lost my job and am actively, passionately, and desperately looking for a new one! My old self would have resorted to eating my blues away but now with the band I can't do that but I also haven't lost much weight. ugh!! I get my first fill on the 24th so I can't wait to start losing again. I hope everyone has a great weekend!
  7. Ugh! I broke a cardinal rule today and it was painful! I totally had a brain fart. I was eating my baked sweet potato when I took a gulpof water and oh boy did that hurt!! Felt like I couldnt breathe, got all clammy but I got up and walked around which I think helped me. Painful lesson learned.

  9. I agree it depends on where you work and what you need to do. I drove today for the 1st time and felt okay. I'm still feeling discomfort but today was the first day I didn't nap. Hopefully, I get my energy back soon.
  10. I'm staying away from PB for a very long time if not ever. Too scared now. Anyways, to everyone beginning their mushies tommorrow ...Happy Chewing!!
  11. Amy don't feel bad I also tried peanut butter..bad mistake. I felt very uncomfortable afterwards and felt like I had eaten a whole cow. Now I know why I felt that way. NO MORE PEANUT BUTTER!!!
  12. I'm feeling itchy too. Good news!! I started mushies today!! I had to eat very slow and waited before taking another bite but so far so good. My tummy feels good and satisfied after eating some oatmeal 1/2 cup was all it took. Still have some gas issues but yep gas x not working too well.
  13. Don't sweat it you're right where you need to be. Everyone's body is different and everyone has different nutrioniost/surgeons. We can only do what is right for OUR body. So with that being sad I'm so happy to have this group in my life too!!! Only you all know what it is like from eating whatever we want when we want to totally just surviving on water and jello! lol I love it!!!
  14. I'm feeling tons better today. Still taking the gas x tablets but very minimal pain meds. I'm walking around more and feel like cleaning. But I'm going to lay off the cleaning part, lol and take advantage of the help I'm receiving right now. Oatmeal sounds wonderful Stan! Tomorrow is day 6 so I can start oatmeal..we'll see how that goes. I'm glad to see the July 1st bandsters posting again. Has anyone heard from Kevin? Wasn't he suppose to have his surgery on the 1st too?
  15. I'm getting the growling thing than I get the lump in my throat. After speaking to my friend she told me that I'm probably hungry. I drank some Soup and felt better afterwards.
  16. I have no idea but I think maybe the milk had something to do with it plus the applesauce I ate.
  17. I'm feeling better than yesterday but a friend of mine who got banded in June said the reason I'm feeling all the pain now is because all the meds from surgery are wearing off (makes sense). I've been feeling a little nauseated today and found out it was because I haven't eaten. Once I had my Protein shake things felt better. For lunch I had some Soup and 4oz of 2% milk from mootopia. Forgive me for grossing you out but has anyone had a bowel movement? I just had one today and I thought since we've been on the liquid diet I wouldn't have anything in there. Surprise, surprise. I'm looking forward to eating pureed foods soon. I saw my family eating today and although I didn't want what they were eating I was thinking wow I could really go for a Peanut Butter sandwich. lol
  18. Yes, I can't stand the smell of food. I felt great yesterday prolly because I was still high from all the drugs that today I feel pain. I got up at 4:00am in pain took my meds and fell asleep in my recliner. Ive been on the recliner all day. Finally got up to walk around. Anyone feeling like a bus just ran over you?
  19. Yay! My surgery was this morning at 7:30am. The surgery staff was very nice and supportive so that calmed my nerves down. I wasn't so lucky as Nechama I am suffering from gas pain in between my shoulder blades and also around my stomach area but as long as I burp and move around it goes away. I've only taken 1 gas x strip so I think I will take another right now. The area around my port and the very top incision is very sore but I have not had to take any pain meds other than the first dose I got after I recovered. Now that I think of it the pain might have been from the gas and not from the incision. As far as drinking liquids..I've been drinking small 8oz of bottled water; half a bottle of 8oz of apple juice and about 4 teaspoons of broth. I am finally taking my Protein shake (with no ice) and all is good. I haven't had any issues with swallowing but I am taking baby sips. Congratulations Shauna on your surgery date!! July 2011 banders rock!
  20. Nechama- I hope to be able to post as quickly as you did after my surgery. Surgery time is at 7:30am this morning. :bananajump:
  21. I can't sleep I have surgery this morning at 7:30am. I am feeling excited and nervous all at the same time. Tonight I have reflected on my past and what I am about to do. After 13 years of fixing everyone else's problems and taking care of everyone else I am finally going to take care of me. My only child graduated this June from high school and will be leaving for college in August so that will leave me on my own to really take care of myself and also to find "me" again. I am excited for this new chapter in my life to begin. Good luck to my fellow bandsters who will be banded today along with me. Here's to a new beginning for all of us!!
  22. Congratulations Nechama! Hope you are doing well tonight. Thank you for your post it will help us know what to expect after surgery.
  23. Yes, totally feeling crappy this week. Also, has anyone had any friends or relatives start distancing from you? I have a very close friend who I hardly speak to now. She is overweight but does not want to go thru surgery. I didn't think this would affect our friendship but I can't understand the distance especially when I've needed support this past two weeks on the pre-op diet. I also have a family member who is overweight but is going to the gym and cutting back on food and she seems to be acting weird around me. I don't know maybe its just me but I don't feel my personality has changed. I haven't even had my surgery yet and I'm feeling like I will be losing some important people in my life after surgery. In a lighter note, Has anyone thought about going on an airplane sometime after surgery? Will our band show up on the XRAY?? lol.. I can just picture it now people screaming and the TSA yelling I have a bomb in my tummy! hilarious!!
  24. You never know it could be true. At least it didn't show that you were gaining! Lizzy I'm having the same problem as you...ah the life of the banders! I'm getting excited and nervous for my D day..only 4 more days!!! I am so happy to see so many of us July banders. Good luck to each and everyone of you!!
  25. Just had my last appt before the surgery on the 1st. I'm feeling a little nervous but I am so ready to get this done. For those of you doing the protein shake diet please listen to your body. I started to feel lightheaded, dizzy etc but just chalked it up to the effects of being on a liquid diet and figured it would go away as I got used to it. Well, it didnt and needless to say I called the office and was told it may be due to the medication I am currently taking. So I was given permission to eat a small piece of chicken (palm size), 1 egg or 1 slice of cheese as a snack twice a day and guess what I feel tons better now. So lesson learned.... please contact your doctors office if you have any weird symptoms that persist.
