  1. Hey. I'm the new kid, and I'm getting my band popped in on July 15th. So many thoughts!
  2. I've been all over this site, and as much as I enjoy reading the stories that all of the ladies share, I've noticed that guys are few and far between. Just wanted to stop in and say, "hey". It's good to have some people that I can fully identify with.

    Muscle Milk

I would advise being careful with the Muscle Milk. Apparently it has larger than normal levels in arsenic in it. Not telling you what to do, just a heads up. http://www.webmd.com/food-recipes/news/20100603/report-protein-drinks-have-unhealthy-metals

    July 2011 Bandsters!

Nice! I was hoping it would be continued from the other forum.
  5. Thanks, Appleband. Spread the word! :)

    Any July 2011 Bandsters?

Hey. Just wanted to stop and let all of you having surgery tomorrow (I think even a couple today) and in July that I'm proud of you for having the courage and I wish you all the best of luck! Mine's on the 15th and I'm pretty happy/worried/excited/hopeful/freaked out about it.

    Any July 2011 Bandsters?

Thanks! Glad you enjoy it. I know this whole thing is going to be a challenge, so why not have some laughs along the way?

    5 days Postop and STARVING

I have read that some people add Benefiber to their soups, drinks, etc to feel full longer.

    Any July 2011 Bandsters?

Thanks, Merlina! More to come. I hope more people enjoy it as it moves along. It'll be a great tool to let some of my brain trolls out to play once in a while. The only problem is is that they really like potato chips.

    Any July 2011 Bandsters?

Surgery is creeping up (July 15th) so I've been trying to work things in like skipping drinks before and after dinner (holy crap) and chewing 30 times with every bite (forever!) and I'm already getting tired!

    Any July 2011 Bandsters?

Funny. I just posted on my blog this morning about searching for the perfect protein shake! Tough one.

    Any July 2011 Bandsters?

    Any July 2011 Bandsters?

    Getting banded July 15th!
  15. Super cool! It's creeping up, isn't it? My next meeting is Friday.
  16. Hey there! Good to meet another guy on here! I was feeling so alone ! :)

  17. Alright @Labella624, looks like I'm right after you. 15th with Kia at 2:15.
  18. Got a date for my procedure. July 15th. Can't stop thinking about life afterwards. I think family and friends will look at my eating routine as weird. I keep thinking about myself eventually eating a single slice of pizza or something, and saying to myself, "That's it???" Or a tiny bit of cereal, and going, "Really? I normally want a big ass bowl!" I'm hoping that my brain's expectations of food and meal routines transitions easily, but honestly that is what is weirding me out the most. I like the flavors and textures too much, and that is what keeps getting me in trouble. Soooooo, here we go!
  19. Started a blog at http://lapbanddude.tumblr.com/ to help myself (and maybe others) through this process. Stop by and say hi.
  20. Sagano rocks! Yes, they do load you up on food. That's one thing that has been in the back of my head...eating in restaurants and actually having it be a fun experience.
  21. Good luck. Hope it goes well.
  22. Thanks for the well wishes....you too! No, I'm not a real big fan of exercise either. I've managed to lose weight on my own before and fell into the all or nothing routine with exercise. Not my idea of a good time. Have you tried Greek yogurts? Those are good and more filling (and more protein) than the regular stuff. Chobani or Oikos are good. I have an appt with the doc on the 20th of this month and I will get my pre-op eating details. It's my understanding that 2-4 weeks liquid diet prior to surgery is the norm.
